Asus ROG Phone 3 

It’s the first smartphone to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus. The much awaited gaming phone from Asus, the ROG Phone 3 offers up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage. The device features an 6.59-inch AMOLED panel in an 19.5:9 aspect ratio offering Full HD+ resolution at 144Hz refresh rate. The device is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 protection with HDR10 certification. At the back the device features a 64MP main camera with a 13MP sensor upfront.

ROG Phone 3 houses a huge 6,000 mAh capacity supporting 30W fast charging technology. The device has a secondary USB-C port for charging and accessories.

Mi 10 Pro Plus

Mi 10 Pro Plus is tipped to be coming next month. Mi 10 Pro Plus is going to be a toned-up Mi 10 Pro from the Mi 10 series could be powered by Snapdragon 865 Plus. The Xiaomi 5G flagship recently was unveiled in India. Not much about the Mi flagships are out yet. The rumour mill continues to churn in leaks, while the official teasers are expected very soon. Mi 10 Pro Plus will be a more premium model of the Mi 10 Pro.

The smartphone will launch in China in August. Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro phones were unveiled in China in February. Mi 10 Pro Plus may not come to India. Both the Mi flagships: Mi MIX 4 and Mi 10 Pro Plus are expected to arrive sometime in Q4 2020.

Lenovo Legion

Another gaming phone, the Lenovo Legion will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus. The Legion Phone from Lenovo is it’s gaming phone. As rival Asus ROG Phone 3, the Lenovo Legion phone comes with a specially designed landscape usage form factor. Designed for gamers, the phone has a side-mounted pop-up camera, secondary USB-C port to be used in landscape mode and more. 

The device will run on Snapdragon 865 Plus with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. Lenovo Legion houses a 5,000 mAh battery with support upto 90W fast charging. The whole device can be charged in just 30 minutes. The rear camera includes a 64MP main sensor.

Realme X3 Pro

The company CEO Madhav Sheth teased a “big announcement” at the upcoming IFA 2020, expected to be Realme X3 Pro. The company recently announced the 125W UltraDART fast charging technology, and Realme X3 Pro could become the first device to come with the latest charging solution. The device may feature the upcoming 108MP camera sensor from Samsung, the HM2 108MP lens as their primary sensor. Realme X3 Pro will replace Realme X2 Pro in the entry-premium category.

Realme X3 Pro will have Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865 Plus powering it with support for 65W Dark super fast charging technology. As the X3 series, the Realme X3 Pro series may have two variants as well.

Mi MIX 4

Mi MIX 4 will be the company’s next experimental innovative flagship, said to be launching in July or August. The last Mi MIX smartphone was Mi MIX 3. It launched in October 2018 and the successor Mi MIX 4 has been due since. The company introduced the Mi MIX Alpha, a concept phone in October 2019 and Mi MIX 4 is being rumoured to finally debut in Q4 2020. Mi MIX 4 will come with a waterfall screen, 100-megapixel main camera and 5G technology.

While Mi 10 Pro Plus was scheduled during this period, the Mi MIX 4 launch was about to happen earlier. The Coronavirus pandemic worldwide could be the reason behind the delay in launch.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

Samsung could soon unveil another foldable phone, and this will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus chip in the US. The company may launch the Galaxy Z Fold smartphone, the latest version at the Unpacked event. The company is all set to host the upcoming event online on August 5. Galaxy Z Fold 2 will succeed the controversial Galaxy Fold which has been tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus platform.

The company may also unveil Galaxy Z 2 Flip 5G, another Z Flip device running on the same Snapdragon 865 Plus. It will be a clamshell foldable phone which will turn into a compact device while folded and Galaxy Z Fold 2 into a tablet when folded as the original Galaxy Fold.

Google Pixel 5, Pixel 5XL

There’s a lot riding on Pixel 5 in 2020. It could be the last year for Pixel smartphones if they fail again. Both Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 series have not been able to generate much buzz among smartphone buyers, and Google will try to make it up with Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 5XL. In spite of being good smartphones, the Pixel still aren’t the bestsellers in the market. A new design is expected, and the company may choose to completely transform Pixel 5 smartphone from current Pixel 4 series of smartphones.

Google Pixel 5 might get more attractive in terms of features and design with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or 865 Plus platform under the hood. With camera being the major USP, Google will again keep the focus on cameras for Pixel 5 and Pixel 5XL. 

Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Plus

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will launch in the final quarter of 2020, and Samsung will have already started work on the flagship. The Galaxy S20 series will be carried forward with a full-screen display without any notch or punch-hole, which may also inspire the Galaxy Note 20. Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or 865 Plus will power the Note 20 in the US, and the top-end Exynos chip in other countries including India. 

Galaxy Note 20 will have certain improvements over the current Note 10 alongside a 5G model. As Note 10 series, the Note 20 series will also have two models, a standard and a plus variant. Coming to optics, Galaxy Note 20 might upgrade over the triple-lens setup with a quad or penta camera system.

OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8T Pro

In the last quarter of 2020, we will have the upgraded OnePlus 8 smartphones: OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8T Pro. The company is trying to move up the funnel to establish itself as a more premium brand, and hence the OnePlus 8T models are expected to offer more minimalistic design backed by the top features. The OnePlus T models generally come with slight upgrades, and hence mostly it’s going to be the same between OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T, and OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T Pro.

OnePlus 8T smartphones will have similar design and features as OnePlus 8 models like the punch-hole camera upfront, quad camera and build. The devices will have a change with the hardware and some additional functionalities.
