US President Trump has signed the order which bans immigration into the US, for the next 60 days.

Before signing this proclamation, President Trump had made it clear that non-immigrant visas such as H1B visa wont be impacted.

Here are the details..

No Impact On H1B Visa Due To Ban On Immigration

President Trump has informed that the ban on immigration will have no impact on temporary, non-immigrant visas.

He said, “This order will apply only to individuals seeking a permanent residency, in other words, those receiving green cards; big factor, will not apply to those entering on a temporary basis,”

This makes it clear for all Indians and nationals from other nations, who are expected to enter US in the next 60-90 days under H1B visa.

Trump also made it clear that some persons, depending on their skills and professions, will be allowed to enter.

He said, “Some people will have to come in; obviously we have to do that, obviously even from a humane standpoint”

Basically, this proclamation signed and approved by the White House bans all new green card issuance, and access to green card for family members of permanent US citizens.

Hence, besides H1B visa, L-1 and E-2 visa will also be not impacted.

US Immigration Ban Will Not Impact These People

As per the information available, the immigration ban will not impact:

  • H1B visa holders
  • Anyone who had their visa approved before April 22
  • Healthcare workers such as doctors and nurses
