Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new smartphone that is set to feature a 144MP camera sensor with its alleged Mi 10S and Mi CC10 Pro flagships.

144MP Camera Smartphone?
Xiaomi had launched a phone with a 48MP camera and the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a 64MP sensor in 2019. Xiaomi introduced the world’s first smartphone, Mi Note 10 with a 108MP sensor, last year as well.
The renowned tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore tweeted, “Xiaomi is working on a phone with 144MP camera sensor. I guess it should be Mi 10S Pro or Mi CC10 Pro.”
According to earlier reports, the company might be working with the rumoured Samsung 144MP sensor which will be manufactured using the 14nm FinFET process.
Mi 10S and Mi CC10 Expected Details!
Since the Mi 10S will most likely be a flagship offering, it could equip Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 SoC that supports camera sensors of up to 200MP resolution.
The first-ever smartphone 108MP sensor in Mi Note 10 was immediately followed by both Mi 10 Pro and the Mi CC9 Pro smartphones. Hence the Mi 10S Pro or the Mi CC10 Pro are expected to rock an even higher megapixel count. The Mi 10S and Mi CC10 Pro phones’ launch dates are unveiled as of now, but are expected to happen later this year.
There is no official confirmation from the Chinese manufacturer, just some assumptions regarding the same! But it is worth noting that Xiaomi has been among the trailblazers in launching phones with high-megapixel image sensors.
A high megapixel count doesn’t necessarily guarantee better images. Apple and Google, are leaders currently in the photography department but still their phones come armed with 12MP sensors with no quad cameras. But it will be amusing to see how the new 144MP sensor will change the dynamics of smartphone photography.
Xiaomi Mi CC10 will launch as Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite in some markets. In India, the Xiaomi Mi CC10 will come as Mi A4, the Android One series from Xiaomi in collaboration with Google.
