FIR Against Billionaire Sachin Bansal For Demanding Dowry; Wife Claims Rs 61 Lakh Was Spent On Marriage

$1.1 billion worth Sachin Bansal is in deep trouble.

His wife, Priya Bansal, has filed an FIR against him, for demanding dowry and for harassment. 

Sachin Bansal is the co-founder of Flipkart, which was acquired by Walmart for Rs 1.4 lakh crore.

FIR Against Sachin Bansal For Demanding Dowry

Sachin Bansal’s wife, Priya Bansal has filed a FIR against him, for demanding dowry and for harassment.

Priya claimed that 11 years ago, when they were married, Sachin’s family demanded dowry, and harassed her when she refused to give more money.

As per the complaint filed, Sachin Bansal and his family forced her family to spend Rs 50 lakh in marriage, and not only that, they also demanded a car. 

In turn, Rs 11 lakh was given to Sachin’s family, in cash. 

Sachin Bansal’s family, as per the complaint filed, demanded more dowry, and this is the reason she faced harassment.

The FIR was filed at Koramangala police station in Bengaluru against Sachin Bansal, father Sat Prakash Agarwal, bother Nitin Bansal and mother Kiran Bansal.

As per the complaint, Sachin and his family pressurized her to transfer the properties in his name.

What is the value of the properties, and what actually happened to that property, is not yet clear.

Police Will Take Action?

As per the police officials, Priya Bansal has filed the case under 498(a) (husband’s family inflicting cruelty and driving victim to suicide or cause grave injury ) and 314 DP act.

This is indeed a serious offense, and police will initiate investigation soon.

A police official said, “We are yet to interrogate the family since they are out of station and the investigation is on. Cannot reveal more info on investigation.”

While some are refusing to believe that a person whose worth is right now more than a billion dollars will resort to dowry, an age-old social evil.

While others are appreciating Priya for taking up this issue heads-on, and making everyone aware of the issues related with dowry.
