Pack Optimisation Launched By Tata Sky
In an innovative and unique step, India’s #1 DTH operator Tata Sky has launched a pack optimisation feature on their website and app.
Using this tool, all users can lower their monthly bill, and watch the same number of channels for the same price.
This tool checks out which packs are currently active on the account, and offers a better selection of the same channels, in a way which helps you save money.
This feature has been included in the ‘Manage Packs’ section of the website, which is visible once the user logs in.
As per a post shared by DreamDTH, it was found that once a user opts for optimising the plans using this feature, then it actually helps them save money.
In the example shown, the user had originally a pack of Rs 746.50 per month, for 262 channels. After optimising the plans, the tool offered a reduced bill of Rs 698.44, for 303 channels.
Hence, a saving of Rs 48.06, and added a total of 41 channels as well.
A win-win situation.

SD, HD Set Top Box Price Slashed
Days before Diwali, Tata Sky has unleashed a new price war, as they have slashed the price of both SD and HD set top boxes
Before this rate cut, Tata Sky SD Set Top Box was available for 1600, which is now available for Rs 1099, which is a saving of Rs 501, or 31%.
On the other hand, HD Set Top Box was initially available for Rs 1800, whose price has been now reduced to Rs 1299, which is again a saving of Rs 501, or 28% in this case.
It would be interesting to observe how Airtel, D2H and others react to this new price war from Tata Sky.
