September experienced some top launches: OnePlus 7T, Realme XT, Vivo V17 Pro, Samsung Galaxy M30s, Vivo U10 and more.

Redmi Note 8 series remain the most awaited series in the country, and Xiaomi India is said to be unveiling the latest Note series by the end of October or early November. Then we have the successor to the much-popular OnePlus 7 Pro, the OnePlus 7T Pro and the Pixel 4 series for 2019.

Redmi Note 8 Pro

Xiaomi India has confirmed that Redmi Note 8 series will launch in 8 weeks in India, confirming a launch in late October or early November. It remains the most awaited device in India now, and is a direct competitor to the super-hit Realme XT. The gaming beast Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ screen offering an immersive 91.94 percent screen-to-body ratio with a 3D curved CG5 glass sandwich body. Redmi Note 8 Pro also comes with a quad camera system at the back. Note 8 Pro comes with the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 2MP depth sensor, 8MP Ultra Wide lens and 2cm Macro lens.

Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with the newly launched gaming-centric flagship MediaTek Helio G90T processor with upto 8GB RAM and 128GB storage with a larger 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support running on Android 9 Pie based on MIUI 10. Redmi Note 8 Pro starts at Rs 14,000 in China for the 4GB/64GB model (converted).

OnePlus 7T Pro

After OnePlus 7T, the company will now launching the upgraded top-end OnePlus 7T Pro in October. The invites are out and OnePlus 7T Pro will launch globally on October 10. Successor to OnePlus 7 Pro, the 7T Pro will come with upgraded cameras and features as OnePlus 7T. As OP 7 Pro, the 7T Pro will feature a similar design, pop-up selfie camera, vertically-aligned rear cameras and curved 90Hz Fluid display. OnePlus 7T Pro will run on the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chip, Warp 30T new fast charging support and triple cameras.

The setup will include a 48-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto unit with 3x zoom, 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 4,085mAh battery, in-display fingerprint scanner, Android 10 OS out of the box. The device will be available India imminently, again expected to be priced around the same Rs 50,000 range.

Redmi Note 8

The regular Redmi Note 8 will see a massive upgrade over the current Redmi Note smartphones. Redmi Note 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and will start at under Rs 10,000 in the country. Redmi Note 8 comes with a quad rear camera setup featuring a primary 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, 2MP depth sensor, 8MP Ultra Wide lens with 120-degree depth view and a 2cm Macro lens. Upfront, Redmi Note 8 comes with a 13MP selfie camera.

The smartphone will come with the same 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support and the same USB Type C port running on Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10.

Poco F2

There are wide rumours making news that Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO is coming back, and the company will supposedly launch a new device by this month. As an upgrade, Poco F1 will come with a dot-notch display and thin bezels on the sides with a slight chin at the bottom. Poco F2 will feature an AMOLED screen, triple camera system at the back, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of in-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 855 and Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC will pair with 6GB or 8GB of RAM with a 6.39-inch display. Poco F1 still remains the most affordable Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone, and similarly Poco F2 will be again launched in the same 20,000-range. 

Redmi 8 & Redmi 8 Pro

Xiaomi India recently unveiled Redmi 8A in the country, the first smartphone under the Redmi 8 series. Redmi will launch Redmi 8 series this October 1 at an event in China, with an India launch expected in a month or so. Redmi 8 series will include a standard Redmi 8 variant, a Redmi 8 Pro variant an entry-level Redmi 8A, which has already been launched. Redmi 8 Pro is going to be the top model of the series, tipped to feature a 48-megapixel camera. The revealed TENAA listing shows that Redmi 8 Pro will feature a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a water drop notch. 

All the Redmi 8 smartphone will feature MIUI 9 custom UI based on Android 9 Pie. All smartphones will be powered octa-core processors with different models of each to be available in 2GB, 3GB and 4GB variants with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options. All the devices will support expandable storage up to 512 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung Galaxy Fold will be re-releasing this month again both globally and India, the world’s first commercially launched foldable smartphone. Galaxy Fold sports a 7.3-inch AMOLED screen which folds into a smaller smartphone and unfolds into a tablet from the middle. The second display has a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED cover screen which doubles as a smartphone.

Galaxy Fold comes with a total of six cameras on different sides. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. All the connectivity features are there and it will be available in the country imminently. 

Vivo V17

After Vivo V17 Pro, the company will unveil a toned-down Vivo V17 this month with similar sort of specs at a more affordable pricing. Some features may see a downgrade, but mostly it’s expected to have everything as Vivo V17 Pro. The newly launched Vivo V17 Pro became the first pop-up dual selfie smartphone packing in six cameras in total. V17 Pro has a quad setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel Super Wide-Angle lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and finally a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom.

Vivo V17 Pro came with Snapdragon 675 SoC with 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage and a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED immersive screen no-notch Full HD+ 20:9 screen and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Vivo phone has a 4,100mAh battery with 18W Dual-Engine fast charging support.

Google Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL

The much-awaited Pixel smartphones will be debuting this month, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Set to launch on October 15, the upcoming Google flagships will be the first ever Pixel smartphones to come with more than one camera at the back. Pixel 4 smartphones will feature a 12.2MP primary sensor coupled with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. Both the Pixel 4 devices will run on Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and the latest Android 10 out of the box. 

Pixel 4 XL will sport a 6.23-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED 90Hz display in an 19:9 aspect ratio, Pixel 4 will have a smaller sized display. Pixel 4XL will have a 3,700mAh battery with fast charging support, while the regular Pixel 4 will come with a 2,800mAh battery. The devices will feature Soli radar for gesture navigation and Motion Sense features.

Vivo NEX 3

Vivo’s newly launched flagship, NEX 3, is expected to launch in India in October. After being unveiled in China early in September, the smartphone has been making news with unbelievable features. NEX 3 has the highest percent screen-to-body ratio on any smartphone ever, 99.3 percent. Vivo NEX 3 sports a 64-megapixel primary sensor paired with 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical and a 13-megapixel 120-degree Super wide-angle lens.

NEX 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 855 Plus mobile platform with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The device packs a tall 6.89-inch Super AMOLED HDR 10 waterfall display with curved edges. It houses 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging running on Android 9 Pie based FunTouch OS.

Samsung Galaxy A70S

Samsung is working on its own 64MP camera smartphone, Galaxy A70S, and interestingly both the Realme and Redmi devices would be using the sensors manufactured by Samsung. Interestingly, both Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro use the Samsung-made GW1 sensor. The Galaxy A70S is expected to launch this month in the country and globally. Earlier the leaks hinted at a launch in October, and it’s happening this month.

Galaxy A70s will become the first Samsung smartphone to come with a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. The device will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 675 mobile platform, 4,400mAh battery with fast charging support and more.
