Poco F2 Is Alive & Kicking: Xiaomi Is Working On Poco F2 & Launching In India Soon (Specs, USPs, Features)

The sudden transition of Xiaomi’s flagship department from Poco to Redmi with the K20 series have brought up many questions, like whether the next Pocophone will even launch or how the company plans to segregate Redmi K20 Pro and Poco F2.

According to the internal developments, Poco is alive, and the next Pocophone will launch in India in a few months.

Xiaomi is set to debut its Redmi K20 series in the country next week, and Redmi K20 Pro will replace the current flagship offering of Xiaomi in India. Poco F1 will continue to sell in the country with Redmi K20 Pro at the same discounted price.

Poco F2 Exists, In Making

The next generation Poco smartphone, the Poco F2 exists and Xiaomi is working on it. Many wondered how Xiaomi India may discontinue Poco series in the country to make space for Redmi K20 Pro in the entry-premium space.

Poco F1 remains one of the most sold premium smartphones in the country, and turned out to be an instant hit.

Xiaomi will have another entry-level premium smartphone in the country soon in the form of Redmi K20 Pro. It’s already been trending since months, and Xiaomi will again be pricing it very aggressively to take on OnePlus 7 series, Asus 6Z, Oppo Reno and more.

Poco F2 will target a segment below Redmi K20 Pro with more or less similar features. It might compliment each other in a number of ways, which could be a concern for Xiaomi. Both being premium flagships at budget prices, it will have to plan its segments tactfully.

Poco F2 Leaked Specs & Rumours

The leaked rumours hint at a all-screen display with a pop-up selfie sensor, a 48-megapixel camera and a big battery. The features are quite similar to Redmi K20 Pro, but the body could be different. The device is rumoured to come with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display, could be an AMOLED panel as well.

The smartphone will come with a three camera system at the back comprising of a primary 48MP sensor, secondary 8MP sensor and third will be a 13MP sensor. Poco F2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s current flagship processor Snapdragon 855 with upto 10GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Poco F2 has been repeatedly rumoured to come with a pop-up selfie camera to all-screen display and slim bezels. It may sport a 32-megapixel selfie pop-camera.

The device will run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. The whole system will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery supported by fast charging. Coming to India launch, it will happen in the third quarter, probably in August or September.
