Weekly Trending Smartphones: Vivo S1, Honor 9X, Vivo Z5, Redmi K20 Pro, Mi A3, Note 10 Plus, Z1 Pro

This week has been mostly about. While Vivo Z1 Pro continues to dominate the market, two other upcoming devices from Vivo has been trending in the country, Vivo Z5 and Vivo S1. The newly launched Redmi flagships, the much-touted Redmi K20 series went up for sale this week.

After Redmi K20 series, the company will soon be unveiling Mi A3 in the country.

The newly launched Honor pop-up smartphone has also been trending. Honor 9X and 9X Pro was recently unveiled in China, and the devices may land in the country soon, probably in August. The 9X series is going to be the first pop-up smartphones for Honor in India.

Vivo S1

Scheduled to launch in India on August 7, the new Vivo smartphone will target the budget line. After being launched in Indonesia early this month, the smartphone will now launch in Indian market. Vivo S1 comes with a full-HD+ Super AMOLED display featuring a triple rear camera setup. Vivo S1 will run on an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 SoC, 128GB of onboard storage and a 4,500mAh battery.

Vivo has officially confirmed that S1 will launch in India on August 7, and the company is bringing the new S-series smartphone this month.

Vivo S1 India prices has been leaked, and it has been tipped to start at Rs 17,990. There are going to be three models. The mid-end model will cost Rs 19,990, while the top model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will start at Rs 24,990.

Honor 9X

Honor 9X and 9X Pro recently launched in China, and the devices may land in the country soon, probably in August. The devices are in line with the Honor 20 series featuring the glass back in gradient colours with X-shaped patterns. Honor 9X nad 9X Pro feature all-screen no-notch displays with an 6.59-inch OLED display on top.

Both the Honor 9X smartphones are powered by the new Kirin 810 chipset, based on an 7nm process.

Honor 9X offers a dual camera setup featuring a 48MP primary camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor. Honor 9X Pro model has an additional third 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor. On top, the pop-up camera houses a 16MP selfie camera. Both the Honor 9X and 9X Pro come with the same 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging.

Mi A3

Xiaomi has already unveiled the much-anticipated Mi A3 in Spain, and it should shortly arrive in the country, probably by the end of next month. Mi A3 is a rebranded newly-launched Mi CC9 smartphone. The specs are quite disappointing, especially the only-HD+ display. While India may get a slightly better features, the current Mi A3 stands to be the rebranded Mi CC9e. It features a 6.08-inch HD+ AMOLED display with a circular drop styled notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The handset comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with up to 4GB of RAM.

Mi A3 has a triple rear camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a 118-degree wide-angle 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. Upfront Mi A3 features a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Vivo Z5

Vivo also officially released some of the renders including the highlighting features. Some of the key features are similar to the existing Z series smartphone, Vivo Z1 Pro. There are a few inclusions, and this time the company will be using a 48MP sensor, in-display fingerprint sensor and more. The TENAA listing of Vivo Z5 have almost leaked everything you would want to know about the upcoming Vivo flagship.

The Vivo Z5 smartphone will come with a similar design technology as Vivo Z1 Pro. The company will again use the same build as the existing Z series smartphone. The Z5 device will be built out of high quality plastic polycarbonate body.

It will again use a gradient finish on the out with varied colour schemes and colour patterns. The phone just measures 8.3mm. The Vivo smartphone will feature a 6.38-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 712 chip, 48MP camera, 4,000mAh battery and fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

Galaxy Note 10 Plus will come with 12GB of RAM as standard variant along with the same 256GB of storage as the regular model. The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch screen size. It’s going to an AMOLED panel offering 60Hz refresh rate. It’s going to be a punch hole display as the Galaxy S10 series. Galaxy Note 10 will come with a base variant running on 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the base configuration.

The company will launch an additional Plus model as other Pro variants.

Under the hood, the device will run on the new Qualcomm chip. The company will be using Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 855 Plus for the regular Note 10 model, as per the new leak. The company will unveil the Note 10 smartphones this August, and it will hit the Indian shores by the end of the month.

Vivo Z1 Pro

Vivo launched an all new series in the country, the Z series. Aimed at youth, the company plans to take on Xiaomi, Realme and Asus in the segment. The first Z series device, Vivo Z1 Pro has been trending since launch. It’s currently the cheapest smartphone in India to come with a punch-hole display. Vivo Z1 Pro comes with a three camera setup at the back, Snapdragon 712 processor, 5,000mAh battery and a punch-hole display.

The company surprised all with the price as Vivo Z1 Pro only starts at Rs 14,999. It will directly challenge other punch-hole display smartphones in the market, at the same time taking on the budget superstars: Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro in India.

Redmi K20 Pro

Xiaomi launched its very first flagship series under Redmi in the country last week, K20 series. There are two devices under the K20 series: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. The Pro model, Redmi K20 Pro continues to trend in the country since it topped the AnTuTu list to become the world’s fastest smartphone beating all the top flagships available in the market. Redmi K20 Pro runs on the most affordable smartphone running on Qualcomm flagship processor Snapdragon 855 starting at Rs 27,999.

The company faced some big backlash due to the higher pricing in India compared to the China prices.

The device will come with a three rear camera system, notch-less display, in-display fingerprint sensor, a pop-up selfie camera with support for the latest Android Q beta version, 4,000mAh battery supporting 27W fast charging.
