The popular video making and sharing app is bringing about new changes in the app. In addition to that, the parent company of TikTok, Bytedance, has made plans to set up an international data center in India.
TikTok is an app where you can make short videos and share them with your friends. However, more than entertainment, the app has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in the past few months. It has been banned once, after which the ban has been lifted.
Recently, the Government has again threatened the app with a ban for indulging in anti-national activities. TikTok responded to this by sharing that the company plans to invest about $1 billion in the next three years in India for better technology and infrastructure.

TikTok To Introduce Feed Similar to Instagram
TikTok is looking to introduce a new feature that will show the feed on the app in a grid style. The new update will have three features, a grid-like UI which will make the feed appear in a grid, similar to Instagram. As per reports, there will also be an option that will enable users to switch accounts without logging in every time. The search tab will probably be replaced by a Discover page too.
Also, the app developer is also working on a few more features such as “Suggested Users”, “Sounds”, and “Hashtags”.
Share Your TikTok Videos On Whatsapp
With the intention to expand the app’s reach, TikTok will soon introduce another new feature in the app, where the method of sharing TikTok videos to Whatsapp contacts will now be easier. For this, TikTok will now be introducing a new shortcut on the app for users to share videos with their contacts on Whatsapp.
This feature of sharing videos with Whatsapp was already available on Whatsapp, but now, there will be a list of shortcuts of the contacts of your friends or family inside TikTok.
Bytedance To Set Up An International Data Centre In India
Bytedance, TikTok’s makers, are planning to set up a new international data center in India, and with this, it will become the first social media company with such a data center in the country.
TikTok recently announced that it is planning to invest about $1 billion for better technology and investment, and this data centre is a part of this plan. The company has set an internal target of 6 to 18 months to set up the data centre.
