Realme X Launched At Rs 15,000: Pop-Up Selfie Sensor, In-Display Fingerprint Sensor, Sony 48MP Sensor & More!

Realme has banged up again with another stellar budget smartphone, and this time with a pop-up selfie sensor and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The much-touted Realme X has finally been launched in China, and now on its way to India.

Realme India has already the launch of Realme X in the country.

The new smartphone marked the entry of Realme in China. The latest Realme smartphone runs on the best of specs backed by new features, priced very competitively.

Realme X: Features & Specs

To start with, there are two smartphone under the Realme X series: Realme X and Realme X Lite.

Let’s begin with the top model.

Design & Display

Realme X is the first Realme phone to sport a notch-free full-screen panoramic display. The smartphone comes with no notch or hole on the display.

Realme X sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Samsung AMOLED display in 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone offers a screen resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels with a 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio.

It has very minimal bezels on the sides and top with a thin chin down under.

Realme X supports Dolby Atmos sound.

Realme X is also the first Realme smartphone to come with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor embedded in the display. At the back, Realme X is protected by a 3D glasstic panel.

Hardware, Software & Storage

Realme X is powered by a 2.2Ghz Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with Adreno 616 GPU and upto 8GB of RAM. The smartphone won’t come with the speculated Snapdragon 855 chip, and all the models run on the same Snapdragon 710 chip as Realme 3 Pro.

The smartphone will have upto 128GB of internal storage with support for additional storage up to 256GB.

Realme X comes with Android Pie with Color OS 6 on top.

Realme X also comes with special gaming features like Hyperboost 2.0 to improve performance, Gameboost 2.0 to boost up gaming performance by effectively reducing the drops in framerate.

Rear Camera & Pop-Up Selfie Sensor

The Realme X comes with a rear dual camera setup featuring the 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1.6 micron pixels and 6P lens. The high resolution primary sensor couples with a 5MP secondary depth camera.

The smartphone camera also supports the features and modes launched with Realme 3 Pro like Nightscape, Long Exposure Mode, Chroma Boost and more.

Realme X will also supports AI scene recognition offering 960fps super slow motion recording.

It’s the first phone to come with a pop-up camera. According to the company, the sensor rises within 0.72 seconds to pop up. It just at the middle, and houses a 16MP f/2.0 selfie sensor.

Battery & Connectivity

Realme X will support the same Type C powered VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. The smartphone comes with a 3,765 mAh battery. It can juice up to 100 percent from 0 percent in about 75 to 80 minutes.

The new VOOC technology supports fast charging even while playing games.

Realme X Lite: Features & Specs

The company also announced Realme X Lite. The toned-down version of Realme X comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ water drop notch display and a gradient glasstic design finish. The smartphone looks very similar to Realme 3 Pro.

Realme X Lite runs on Snapdragon 710 SoC witn upto 6GB of RAM and the same software, Color OS 6 based on Android 9 Pie.

The whole package is backed by a 4,045 mAh battery supporting VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. Realme X Lite won’t launch in India, as it has just Realme 3 Pro rebranded to be launched in China.

Realme X Price: Realme X Price In India

Realme X has been price in China at CNY 1,499 (around Rs 15,350) for the base model. The mid-tier model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs 16,350) and CNY 1,799 (around Rs 18,350) for the top model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The rebranded Realme 3 Pro, the Realme X Lite has been priced lower in China.

The base model starts at CNY 1,199 (around Rs 12,000) with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. While the top model costs CNY 1,499 (around Rs 15,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model.

Realme X India Launch: Realme X Launch In India

Coming to Realme X India launch, Realme CEO Madhav Seth is already arranged a special media meeting in Beijing, China. The company is expected to bring in the handset in a couple of weeks, and it should cost somewhere around 20,000 rupees.

Given the difference in Chinese pricing with India, Realme X will cost a few thousand bucks more here in the country.

The Realme X base model starts at around Rs 15,000 when converted. In India, the same model may cost somewhere around 17,000 rupees. The Realme X India launch may happen by the end of May.
