Flipkart, Amazon Lock Horns Over Republic Day Sales Days – This Is What You Should Expect

Republic Day, which is celebrated on January 26th, kickstarts the discount season in India, for the retail industry. Since last few years, Big Bazaar, DMart, Reliance Retail along with online portals have been announcing special discount and sales day for Republic Day.

This year, both Amazon and Flipkart have decided to lock horns over this special Republic Day sales days, as both have announced the dates for the sales.

Amazon’s Great Indian Sale – 2019

Interestingly, Amazon India branded this year’s Republic Day sales as The Great Indian Sale.

Here are the highlights which you should know:

• Amazon’s Great India Sale will run between January 20th and January 23rd.
• HDFC Bank customers can get 10% discount
• No cost EMI offers have been planned
• Like last year discount sessions, this year too, Amazon will focus on the sale of smartphones.
• Three biggest offers under smartphones, which already has been announced are:  OnePlus 6T at Rs 37,999, ‘lowest ever’ price on the Redmi Y2 at Rs 8,999 and the Huawei Nova 3i at Rs 20,990 at a ‘never before price’. Honor 8X will also a special offer, whose details are not out yet.
• Amazon has announced special tieups and partnerships with brands such as Apple, OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi, LG, Philips.
• Electronic products such as Laptops, headphones, cameras will have discount upto 60%
• Heavy discounts on smart TVs, with upti 40% discount and 50% cashbacks have been announced
• More than 50 lakh books will be sold via special discount
• Prime Members can access the sale 12 hours earlier, that is January 19th.

Flipkart’s Republic Day Sales

Flipkart has announced the dates for their special Republic Day sales, which will offer some ‘blockbuster’ deals.

Here are the highlights which you should know:

• Flipkart’s Republic Day Sale will happen between January 20th and January 22nd.
• Flipkart’s focus is mobile phones, laptops, and TVs, as the biggest offers and discount will be unleashed in this department.
• Flipkart has partnered with SBI for a special 10% discount.
• No Cost EMI and zero down payment options will be offers, separately for all customers.
• Upto 80% discount on electronic products and accessories have been announced
• 75% discount has been announced TVs and appliances
• Flipkart Plus users will have access to this special discount on January 19th, that is 12 hours earlier. They can access the discounted products from 8PM.
• Exchange offer has also been announced for mobile phones, TVs, laptops, and home appliances
• No-cost EMI will be powered with  Bajaj Finserv EMI Network
• Between 2PM and 6PM, an additional 26% discount has been announced
• During ‘Rush Hours’, special discounts will be provided
• Flipkart-branded products will have an additional 70% discount
