Redmi Note 6 Pro: What Is The Biggest USP?

Hands down, its biggest USP is its dual selfie camera, and AI-powered main camera.

Infact, we did an interesting comparison between cameras of Redmi A2 and Note 6 Pro, and found that Redmi Note 6 Pro is giving better results, sharper images.

Now, Mi A2 is priced at Rs 15,999 for 4GB version, which is a little bit expensive than Note 6 Pro, whose 4GB RAM version is priced at Rs 13,999.

Here is the review:

Biggest difference: Dual Selfie/Main Camera

We conducted an unboxing and review of Note 6 Pro, and found that except camera, rest everything is pretty average.

Both rear and front have two cameras each, which makes it 4 cameras in the phone.

In the rear, there is 12 Megapixel primary sensor, which is coupled with f/1.9 aperture and 1.4-micron pixel size – and a 5 Megapixel depth sensing secondary sensor.

The rear cameras boast of:

  • Dual Pixel Autofocus
  • EIS
  • AI scene detection
  • AI Portrait 2.0 (with Dynamic Bokeh, Light Trails, and Studio Lighting)

In the front, we have 20 Megapixel primary sensor (with 1.8-micron pixels) and a 2 Megapixel secondary sensor. The front camera or the selfie camera has been empowered with interesting features such as:

  • 4-in-1 Super Pixel
  • AI Face Unlock
  • AI Portrait Selfie (with real-time portrait preview)
  • AI Beautify
  • AI Scene Detection

Redmi Note 6 Pro: What’s New?

Redmi Note 6 Pro has these unique firsts:

  • It Comes with MIUI 10 out of the box update
  • This is Xiaomi’s 1st Quad camera phone (that too with AI)
  • While globally, 3 GB/4 GB variants have been launched, in India, it is 4GB/6 GB variants. Definitely India-focussed approach.

Rest Everything Is Pretty Average

If we talk about design and the look-and-feel of this Note 6 Pro, then there ain’t much difference when compared to Note 5 Pro. Even the bezel felt more or less the same. As mentioned in the review, Xiaomi needs some major innovation in terms of design, which can disrupt the Rs 15-20K market of smartphones.

In processing power, while Note 5 Pro had Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 and CPU of Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260; Note 6 Pro is powered by the same Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 and CPU of Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260.
