Maruti Suzuki continue to dominate, while Hyundai and Tata Motors is trying to catch up.

As we inch closer towards the end of the year, things are about to change. There’s already a lot lined up for 2019, and the next year will see some major car launches in the country.

Tata Harrier

Tata Motors has been working hard to take on its lineup to make a serious impact in the industry. From some new designs to a range of products, Tata has successfully launched a new line of cars like Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and more. To game up its flagship SUV range, the company will now launch Tata Harrier in an all new design inspired by the iconic Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Price: Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Maruti Suzuki WagonR (2019)

The next generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be making its comeback in 2019. The much popular hatchback will use the same design, but with a number of upgrades. The upcoming WagonR is going to be a global model in an radical design theme with a larger cabinet, AMT gearbox along with an option of CNG variant as well.

Tata Aquila

Tata Motors has a 45X premium hatchback up next on its radar. A part of the premium hatchback segment, the Tata Aquila will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20. The upcoming Tata Aquila will come with an all new design taking up the automaker’s latest IMPACT 2.0 design language. With a similar grille as Tiago to the front as Tiago, the hatchback has a lot riding on it.

Toyota Subcompact SUV

Toyota is working on a compact SUV based on the hit Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Toyota has signed a new partnership, so there are going to be two new cars based on Baleno and Brezza respectively. The Toyota Subcompact SUV will draw inspirations from the other international lineups of Toyota in a compact SUV model with a focus on locals features for India.

Tata Tiago JTP

The current batch of cars has put Tata Motors back to the limelight. The company is working on its next, Tiago JTP. The concept model was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo with some changes in the out. The car has a new bumper, a new grille and redesigned headlamps in an all new look. The upcoming Tiago JTP will have a black contrasting roof colour with a new set of alloy wheels.

Kia Tusker

So, finally Kia is all set to make its debut in the country. The first Kia design for India was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Kia for now will focus on the local features and pricing for its cars in India. The first Kia car to be launched in India, the Kia Tusker is going to be a Compact SUV, car car similar to the likes of Hyundai Creta, a bestseller in the premium compact SUV segment.

Renault MPV

Renault India is set to launch its MPV in the country. Just like its Kwid, the company is expected to price its upcoming MPV aggressively with parts from its Kwid and Captur. The car is will be priced somewhere below Ertiga with a new grille, redesigned headlamps and skid plates. The car will come with a host of new features including the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system we saw on Kwid.

Honda Civic

You probably remember the Honda Civic sedan. The same car is making a comeback in India, but in all new design. This is going to be the tenth generation model to the popular sedan in a premium look. The company is now primarily focusing on premium cars than mass market models. The new model of Honda Civic will boast a new exterior, sharp headlamps, thick chrome grille, sporty alloy wheels and much more.

Mahindra Inferno

Mahindra is working on a car called the Mahindra Inferno or Mahindra XUV300, to be in line with Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano. Inferno is going to be a compact SUV in a new design with a deep front grille, huge bumper, sporty lamps, alloy wheels, floating roof with sleek interior features like a multifunction steering wheel, big touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated driver seat and heated rear seats.

Nissan Kicks

The Nissan Terrano sales are going down, and the company will soon replace it with Kicks. The Nissan Kicks will come with a new design and exterior features. Based on Nissan V platform, the car is expected to come with some top stylish features and specs. Nissan Kicks will features large wheel in sporty alloy wheels, dual tone exterior paint, roof spoiler, sharp tail lights and more.
