Jio Prime Members to Get 66% More Free Data On Recharge Upto 31st March!
Reliance Jio will finally start charging its customers for calls, texts and data, however the Jio Prime service will still be extremely inexpensive compared to competitors. For just Rs. 303 a month, or Rs. 10/day, you can enjoy unlimited calls, texts and data(limited to 1GB/day) as in the Happy New Year offer.
Jio, at the time of announcement of Jio Prime, also said that it will continue to announce “a line of attractive deal and offers” only for ‘Jio Prime’ members. According to sources, the company is launching the first of such offers, titled ‘Buy One Get One Free’.
The plans that were introduced by Jio Prime started at Rs. 19 and went all the way up to Rs. 9,999. The most optimal plan at Rs. 303 is the most advertised one by the company, but the Rs. 499 plan comes close with double the data quota. Take a look at all the tariffs here.
Now, if you recharge your Jio Prime membership for Rs. 303, you will get free add-ons of Rs. 201 which gives 5GB free 4G LTE data. If you choose to recharge your account for Rs. 499 or above, you get Rs. 301 worth of free add-ons that gives 10GB free data. The benefit of the free add-ons will be given automatically by Jio.
This offer is only applicable to those who enrol for Jio Prime membership before 31st March 2017. Even at this time, you have exactly four weeks to enrol for Jio Prime membership, and Jio has just added new benefits to its plans.
How will the add-on help customers?
Effectively, Jio is giving you boosters packs on the cheaper Prime subscriptions. For Rs. 201 you’re getting 5GB more on your plan. So, if you subscribe to Rs. 303/month plan, you get 33GB of data in a month, still limited to 1GB/day.
Similar, Rs. 499/month plan will get 66GB instead of 56GB data in a month now. However, it is not clear how it will be useful because the FUP is 1GB/day and 2GB/days for the two plans, with a validity of 28 days. Since you can use only limited data in a day, we’re not sure how the add-ons will help.
However, even after acquiring 100 million customers, the company is still attracting customers from other telcos. These two new offers are also to lure even non-Prime members and non-Jio customers. Let’s see how Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone react to this offer.
