Facebook Messenger Bots Can Now Accept Payments; Are Bots Overhyped?

Facebook Games have been quite popular for a long time now, and users could send each other requests to play on a separate platform. The evolution of social media requires everything to be at one place, and today Facebook has announced the integration of ‘Instant Games’ on its platform.

The latest feature called ‘Instant Games’ is a new HTML5 cross-platform gaming experience, on Messenger and Facebook News Feed for both mobile and web. This new games experience allows people to easily discover, share, and play games without having to install new apps.

Now directly through News Feed and Messenger in the latest app update, users will be able to invite their friends and play games on the app itself. The News Feed across countries will get updated soon and more and more users will be able to see a ‘games’ icon.

Take a look at how you can start playing games on messenger –

How can you get started?

Instant Games on Messenger, now appears as a game controller icon just below where people type a message, offers a fun and social experience featuring score-based games, leaderboards, and group thread conversations to challenge and compete against anyone on Messenger.

Just tap that icon and select the game you want to play with the other person. You can play the game from within the messenger itself, challenging the person on the other side. The controls of the games will also be built in the messenger, and you can challenge the same person back. Users can also play these games solo.

On the News Feed, a dedicated Instant Games bookmark is also available where people can view and instantly replay all their favorite titles they previously enjoyed across both platforms. There are 17 Instant Games now available to play, with many more to come, across both Messenger and News Feed in the latest version of the apps.

Instant Games is currently available in 30 countries for iOS v8 or later and Android 5.0 Marshmallow or later. Facebook is offering the following games – Pac Man, Galaga, Arkanoid, Space Invaders, Hex, Endless Lake, Brick Pop and Zookeeper etc.

Facebook has opened this technology to developers as well and more games will be introduced soon on the platform. With over 1.79 billion users on Facebook, app developers have a great chance to showcase their games and talent.

According to initial reviews, the load time for these games seems to be anywhere between 3 to 10 seconds, which seems fast for an app on a smartphone. This feature is in closed beta right now, but will be rolled out to everyone pretty soon.
