Smartphones have been made available through both online and offline stores, but rarely has any OEM decided on selling a smartphone through a hyperlocal delivery app. Well now not limited to groceries after all, Grofers has been selling electronics by partnering with local brick and mortar stores to deliver everything from battery chargers to high-end smartphones through its app.

Reliance Jio and Grofers have partnered to sell its range of LYF handsets through Grofers to customer’s doorsteps, exactly like groceries. For the time being, this offer is available only in select cities in India like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kanpur, Hyderabad and Lucknow. The three smartphones will be made available through local merchants available in these cities.

To order a LYF 4G ready smartphone, open the Grofers app on your smartphone, go to electronics section on the app where there are plenty of options available in terms of devices. Select LYF 4G smartphones from the Reliance Jio LYF category, choose your choice of smartphone and order it exactly the same way you would order anything else from Grofers. Provide you address for delivery, make the payment and be assured to get your smartphone in the promised delivery time.

There is no need to pre-book the devices or provide booking fees for the same, simply order it like you would order from other e-commerce websites. The three smartphones went on sale in the mid of this week and will be available throughout the country along with Reliance’s 4G services starting April 2016.

Moto X Force Shatterproof Smartphone Spotted Before Launch

Moto X Force

Motorola has been known to make handsets with something that sets it apart from the crowd. The Moto Razr V3 that launched in 2004 created an uproar in the phone industry owing to exceptionally stylish and high utility design. Then came a series of phones with high strength and superior battery life, like in the Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra, however they failed to make a mark in the fast-paced gadget innovation environment.

Motorola was back with a bang in 2013 with the feature-rich Moto G which became a turning point in its sales volumes. Success became a reality with its siblings, Moto E and Moto X. However, this did not make Motorola arrogant, instead it gave it a new push to out-do its competitors.

Motorola has been teasing the Moto X Force on all social media platforms with smart and unique advertisements, indirectly targeting iPhones and other Android smartphones.

The smartphone has been listed on Amazon India’s website prior to the official launch on February 1. As the name suggests, Its unique shatterproof design elements have intrigued all manufacturers around the world.

The Moto X Force comes with a display, as claimed by the company, which is built like a tank and can survive all kinds of falls and hits. The flagship smartphone has baffled everyone with the smashproof display, which has survived several drop tests and hammer strikes with excellent results. This phone comes at a time when most smartphones and becoming thinner and fragile, with no damage-proof provision.

Take a look at the specifications:

  • 5.4-inch qHD shatterproof AMOLED flexible display, smash-proof guarantee for 4 years
  • Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB internal storage options

  • microSD card slot available to expand the internal storage to 2TB
  • 3,740 mAh battery, with quick charge ability, to give two days of juice
  • 21MP rear camera with 5MP front-facing camera

This is certainly going to be a hit if priced right, but having launched two ‘X’ devices last year, it looks like this phone will sit above X Style and could be priced at about Rs 45,000. The USP of the X Force is going to attract a lot of eyeballs, so let’s see how Motorola prices the device and what all special offers one gets with the smartphone.
