Tata DOCOMO has become the first company in the world to launch a twitter app service on its platform which will allow Tata DOCOMO Customers to recharge and activate Value Added services with use of #Hashtags on Twitter. Currently this service is available only for GSM Pre-paid customers.
The twitter service / app which is termed as “TwittCom” has been developed indigenously by the team at Tata Teleservices Limited.
Tata Docomo customers need to follow a simple process to register for this Twitter Application:
1.) Go to the twitter handle of the company @tatadocomo, type in #reg <Mobile Number> and they will receive a pin code for verification through SMS.
2.) Once the verification code is received, customers need to go to the twitter handle again, key in #code <Pincode> and they will get a retweet confirming registration.
3.) For activating value added services the process is simple, a customer just needs to go to the handle (@tatadocomo) and key in #act# <Service><value>.
4.) They will then get a twit back confirming activation of the service.
One thing Tata Docomo has done really well is the exploiting Social Media Platforms for marketing and customer service. They have largest Facebook Fan following in India and also have one of the largest twitter following for an Indian Telecom Company.
With the launch of this application, I am sure their Twitter follower count of Tata Docomo will increase multifold as well!
