As per the latest survey by Linkedin, it has been revealed that the technology sector is still the King of Jobs.

At least on Linkedin India!

8 Out 10 Fastest Growing Jobs In Tech

There are 50 million profiles on Linkedin as of now, and people are updating their current skills, getting hired, and growing their careers.

Between 2013 and 2017, Linkedin analyzed the keywords used in the profiles and compared them with the jobs available.

Out of top 10, technology emerged the undisputed winner.

All the top 5 positions on the list were grabbed by jobs related to technology, and out of 10, 8 top jobs were from the technology sector.

However, going by the trends, it is clear that a major transformation is underway.

Which Tech Jobs Were Fastest Growing?

No, it isn’t coding per se, but the jobs in the tech sector belong to big data and machine learning now.

Here are the top 5 tech-related jobs, whose demand is highest as of now:

1. Machine learning engineer
2. Application development analyst
3. Back end developer
4. Full-stack engineer
5. Data Scientist

These top 5 jobs grew by 43, 32, 23, 18 and 14 times respectively.

Where Is The Shift Happening In Tech Sector

Around 8-10 years back, the hottest jobs in the tech sector belonged to Software engineer and business analyst.

However, now, tech jobs in big data and machine learning are growing at a fast pace, and the demand is actually outpacing supply.

This means that specialty and niche-centered jobs are in more demand, compared to a generalist.

Linkedin’s report said, “In India, more and more businesses are shifting focus and resources to big data and digital products.”

What Other Jobs Are In Demand?

In the top 10, other prominent jobs which are in demand are:

Customer Success Manager; Digital Marketing Expert and Sales Recruiter.

Customer Success Manager is the person who assists clients to work with the implemented software, and ensure that the annual contracts are renewed.

Digital marketing is another hot sector which is witnessing much demand, as ecommerce and digital companies make their mark.

And lastly, Sales is an evergreen job, which will be in demand forever.

If we talk about Big Data, then the biggest competition is coming from Delhi and Mumbai. An interesting observation about Big Data: India is the largest supplier of data scientists and cybersecurity specialists to Singapore. 22% of all Data Scientists who reached Singapore, arrived from India.
