Apple Launches New iPhones and iPhone X

The most anticipated launch event of the year is over. iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are official now. iPhone X is the latest Apple flagship, while iPhone 8 and iPhone Plus are the new successors to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 will come with the same design. They will sport a new metal and glass body this time with only two storage options – 64GB and 256GB. While to mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, Apple announced their iPhone X in an all new glass design with a bunch of new innovative features.

iPhone 8

iPhone 8 is essentially the new iPhone 7 with a few improvements. iPhone 8 will feature the same single camera module from iPhone 7 with some slight changes under the hood. The device will get powered by the new 64 bit A11 bionic chipset (six cores – of which two are high performance cores and four are high efficiency cores).

The new A11 chipset will carry a core machine learning system to enhance user experience. It has louder stereo speakers than iPhone 7 and will sport a deeper bass. It will feature Apple’s own GPU, which is 30 per cent faster than A10.

iPhone 8 will feature a 12 megapixel camera at the back, with deeper pixel and quad-LED True Tone flash. It is compatible with augmented reality (AR). It sports a 7 megapixel selfie camera. iPhone 8 will finally feature complete water and dust resistance. It will support wireless charging and feature Bluetooth 5.0 among its connectivity options. It will be available in two storage options – 64GB and 256GB.

iPhone 8 Plus is the improved version of iPhone 7 Plus. iPhone 8 Plus will sport the same dual rear camera module from iPhone 7 Plus with a few changes inside. iPhone 8 Plus be powered by the new 64 bit A11 bionic chipset (six cores – of which two are high performance cores and four are high efficiency cores).

It will feature Apple’s own GPU, which is 30% faster than A10. iPhone 8 Plus will feature a dual rear camera setup (12 megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture + 12 megapixel shooter with f/2.8 aperture) with OIS and quad-led True Tone flash and is compatible with augmented reality (AR).

It sports a 7 megapixel camera up front. iPhone 8 Plus will feature complete water and dust resistance. iPhone 8 will support wireless charging and count Bluetooth 5.0 among its connectivity options. It will be available in two storage options – 64GB and 256GB.

iPhone X

iPhone X is the latest Apple Flagship leading innovations this year. It will showcase an all new all-glass design with some out-of-the-box innovative features. It sports the new unlocking method – Face ID, enabled by the new TrueDepth camera.

iPhone X will sport an almost bezel-less 5.8 inch Super Retina display (the Super Retina display is the first OLED panel from Apple supporting HDR display with Dolby Vision and HDR10). It comes with a A11 Bionic chip under the hood, and has been specially designed to take full advantage of the Super Retina display and iOS 11. It supports wireless charging and comes with dual optical image stabilization.

iPhone X replaces the physical Home button with new fast and fluid gestures, which will allow users to navigate naturally and intuitively. The Face ID will come with a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator that will accurately map and recognize a face.

iPhone X comes with a dual 12MP rear camera setup with dual optical image stabilization. There is f/1.8 aperture on the 12MP wide angle camera and has an improved f/2.4 aperture on the other 12MP telephoto lens for better photos and videos. Both the cameras have been specially designed to offer the ultimate AR experience.

iPhone X will come in silver and space grey in 64GB and 256GB models, starting at Rs. 89,000 from November 3 in India. The pre-orders of the device will start on October 27.

Apple Watch Series 3

The new Apple Watch (Series 3) has been launched at the event, and will be available in two different case sizes – 38mm and 42mm, from September 29 in India. The Apple Watch Series 3 will support both GPS and Cellular technology. It will be available in gold, silver and space grey with aluminium body, or silver and space black with stainless steel body, paired with a variety of bands. Prices will start at Rs. 29,900.

Apple TV: 4K With HDR Support

To offer better cinematic experience at home, Apple has launched the new 4K Apple TV. It will support both 4K and High Dynamic Range (HDR). Prices will be Rs. 15,900 for 32GB and Rs. 17,900 for 64GB. It has been designed to deliver sharp, crisp images; richer, true-to-life details in both dark and bright. The pre-orders for Apple TV 4K start on September 15 and will be available from September 22 in the US and 21 additional countries and regions and worldwide soon after.
