This Is How Instagram Users Can Now Buy Directly From The Chat Window! (How Will Payment Work?)

The Meta-owned photo and video sharing social networking platform Instagram, used by millions of people to share pictures and keep in touch with friends and families, has now introduced a new feature which will allow users to make purchases directly from Instagram chats, also known as direct messages or DMs.

This means that Instagram users will now be able to make direct purchases while chatting with the small business on DMs, without leaving the chat, using the payment mode of Meta Pay and checking out in just a few taps.

Instagram to Now Allow Shopping on DMs For Users

In a recent post on Instagram, CEO of Meta Platforms said, “You can now buy products from small businesses and track your order in chat on Instagram in the US. Pay with Meta Pay and checkout in a few taps.”

A recent blog post by the company read, “Each week, one billion people message a business across our family of apps — whether it’s chatting with brands, browsing products, asking for support or interacting with stories. We want to help people start conversations with businesses they care about and help them find and buy products they love in an easy, seamless experience, right from the chat thread”.

To make it clear, some small businesses will get qualified to sell their products to users through a series of quick and easy steps on chats with users.

For instance, if a user has a query or wants some information on any product(s) of a qualified small business on Instagram, they can directly message the business on the platform, like customizing the said product or anything else.

As per Instagram’s new feature, once the discussion on the product is done in the chat section on the platform, the user can place the order, make payment and get tracking details on the same chat panel without leaving the space even once in the entire process.

Users will be using Meta Pay to complete purchases. 

Further, small businesses will benefit from this feature too, as they will be able to chat with customers in real-time and answer their enquiries, while confirming purchase details.
