New Avatar Of Kia Seltos Reaches India, Caught Testing On Road: New Features, Launch Date & More

Test mules of the Kia Seltos facelift have now been spotted in India.
The original Seltos, since its launch in 2019, has been one of the best-selling models in the market.
The test mules are covered in camouflage so not much is revealed.

Exterior
However, an extra layer of camo can be seen in the back, possibly where the majority of the changes could be made.
The only noticeable difference in these shots is a new pair of tail lights.
According to previous spy shots, it might get a new grille, revised internals for the headlamp and DRL combination, new front and rear bumpers, new LED tail lights, and a set of new alloy wheels.
Interior Features
The interior is hidden as well, but the mid-size SUV could be equipped with amenities such as a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, new upholstery and an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system.
It will also come with ADAS features that are expected to be tuned for usage in India.
Powertrain, Transmission
It could be powered by the same engines as its predecessor, the:
- 1.5-litre NA petrol engine which produces 115 PS and 144 Nm
You can also get it with an IVT or a 6-speed iMT.
- 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 115 PS and 250 Nm
It can be mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed iMT.
- 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 140 PS and 242 Nm
It is mated to an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
iMT Gearbox
The iMT gearbox which is essentially a clutchless manual gearbox is ideal since the driver will not need to press the clutch while changing the gear.
So drivers can still enjoy the action of changing gears without having to worry about pressing the clutch in the traffic- the best of both worlds.
Launch, Competition, Pricing
It is expected to debut globally by August this year, followed by an expected India launch at the Auto Expo 2023.
Upon launch it will face off against the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
Expect the prices to go up.
The outgoing model starts at Rs.10.19 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 18.45 lakhs, so one will have to shell out these figures at the minimum.
