Maruti Baleno’s Latest Avatar Launched At A Shocking Price Of Rs 6.35 Lakh! (Full Details)

It will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to have six airbags.

The 2022 version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched in India. 

This Baleno has received extensive upgrades, but the platform and powertrain remain unchanged.

Appearance

It get a redesigned front end, featuring a new set of headlights with DRLs and wider grille upfront.

The rear end sports a new bumper along with a wider and slimmer grille.

The grille gets chrome garnish that extends to the angular LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. .

The wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and chrome door handles are borrowed from the predecessor along with the 16-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

The biggest alteration it gets is on the inside and the tech has been a key focus area.

A highlight inside is the new dashboard with a bigger and advanced 9-inch Smartplay Pro standalone touchscreen unit with in-built navigation system.

The all-new interface featuring much sharper and crisper graphics also commands attention.

Next-Gen Telematics System

Suzuki Connect comes as an in-built feature in this Baleno.

It offers over 40-plus features for vehicle safety and security, trips and driving behaviour, status-alerts and remote operations.

It can be remotely accessed through compatible smart watches and voice connectivity through Alexa Skill.

Safety

It will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to have six airbags- side and curtain airbags- in the top-end variants.

It will also be equipped with Hill Hold Assist (HHA), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) along with ABS and EBD, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

The 360-degree camera is a segment first and the HUD is new for the company. 

The 360-degree-view camera gives a real-time view of the car’s surroundings using feed from multiple cameras around the car.

It is equipped with the latest ‘approaching object detection’ feature that can sense the presence of moving objects on the screen.

Powertrain

The car runs on a 1.2-litre VVT motor K Series Dual Jet petrol engine with idle start/stop system.

It is offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

It produces 89 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,400 rpm.

The car gets upgraded suspension, brakes and a new hydraulic clutch.

Pricing

The new Baleno will be sold in Nexa dealerships.

The prices start at Rs 6.35 lakh for the base Sigma variant and go up to Rs 9.49 lakh for the top-end Alpha automatic trim.

  • Delta – Rs. 7.19 lakh
  • Delta AMT – Rs. 7.69 lakh
  • Zeta – Rs. 8.09 lakh

  • Alpha AMT – Rs. 9.49 lakh

The new Baleno is also available through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at a subscription fee of Rs. 13,999 per month, inclusive of vehicle registration, maintenance, insurance etc.

It will compete in the premium hatchback segment against the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo.
