The Indian IT industry is ready to call its employees back to offices.
Some are going with a hybrid model and others are planning a phased return.
It is transitioning to a hybrid mode of working now that Covid cases are on the decline and vaccination has been widespread.
Some associates are opting to spend time at both, office premises and working remotely.
The company will get its employees back to offices in the coming months.
Senior-management-level executives have already started working from offices regularly.
It has assured that its offices are safe for employees to work out of since it is following social distancing & COVID 19 protocols.
TCS has developed a unique work model which will have not more than 25 per cent of the company’s associates to work from an office at any given point in time.
Per the model, they will not have to spend more than 25 per cent of their time in the office.
An important part of the model is to first bring people back to physical offices and gradually transition into the hybrid work model.
It is presently monitoring the situation and will continue to operate in a hybrid model.
It is balancing both priorities of safety and well-being of its employees and maintaining business normalcy by ensuring uninterrupted services to clients.
It is planning a phased return to office.
In the initial phases, it will encourage its employees to attend office in person for just a day or two per week.
The company envisions a hybrid model in which about 40-50 per cent of employees will work from office after subsequent phases of return to office.
Starting from April 18, employees can work from offices on a voluntary basis.
From this date, the company will begin a phased return to office (RTO) approach through the remainder of Q2.
As space permits, and on a voluntary basis, employees are free to work from an open office.
Then from July to December 2022, it will classify associates by their new work location: Client, Cognizant office or remote.
This will assist in the gradual transition from voluntary RTO to a more structured hybrid model.
