Finally, Price Of Fuel, LPG Increased By Govt: Pay Rs 50 Extra For Cooking Gas!

Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by 80 paise each, whereas the prices of LPG have increased by Rs. 50 per cylinder. 

At the beginning of March, the prices of LPG have been hiked by a whopping Rs. 105. This marked the second-highest price of LPG in the history of LPG cylinders. 

Retail Prices Of Petrol And Diesel Hiked By 80 Paise

The retail price of petrol and diesel have increased by 80 paise each in Delhi from 6 am on Monday. This is the first time that fuel prices have been hiked since December 1, 2021. Also, domestic cooking gas (or LPG) price was increased by Rs. 50 per cylinder.

On Tuesday, the price of a litre of petrol increased to Rs. 96.21 at the Rajdhani Service Station in Delhi, while diesel rates went up to Rs. 87.47 per litre. This is an 80 paise increase from petrol costs that were Rs. 95.41 on Monday and diesel rates were at Rs. 86.67 per litre.

Whereas, the hike in the cooking gas cylinder has been for the first time since early October. As we all know, the rates of LPG are revised on the 1st of every month, which is decided on the price of benchmark fuel in the previous month. However, the price of domestic cooking gas LPG, sold to households, was not changed since October, when it was hiked to Rs. 899.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder.

Hike Imposed First Time Since November

As per reports, the hike in the retail fuel prices has been imposed for the first time since November and remained that way for a very long time since the daily revision of prices began in June 2017.

In Mumbai, the price of petrol is Rs. 110.82 and that of diesel is Rs. 95. The price of petrol in Chennai is Rs. 102.16 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.19. The price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs. 105.51 and the price of diesel is Rs. 90.62.

There are reports that suggest that fuel rates may be increased after the elections in the UP end on March 7, as there has been a huge hike in global crude oil prices after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
