TRAI’s Response

The regulator also received 732 and 2,913 complaints against state run telcos MTNL and BSNL respectively.

It forwards them to concerned service providers for appropriate action.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

All Telecom Service Providers (TSP) are required by TRAI to set up a two-tier complaint/ grievance redressal mechanism for handling consumer complaints.

Under the mechanism, a consumer can lodge service-related complaints at the complaint center of their TSPs.

If it is not satisfactorily resolved, the consumer can register an appeal with the appellate authority of the TSPs.
