As per the latest ranking of the most generous Indians by EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2021, some startling revelations have been made.

Wipro founder Azim Premji has once again emerged as India’s biggest philanthropist billionaire, as he donated Rs 27 crore every day.

This way, Azim Premji has beaten Mukesh Ambani in being generous.

Azim Premji #1 Philanthropist Billionaire

As per the latest ranking of the most influential philanthropist billionaires by Hurun, it was revealed that Wipro founder Azim Premji is right now India’s #1 philanthropist.

In the last one year, he donated a whopping Rs 27 crore/day, highest in India.

Overall, he donated Rs 9713 crore in the last 12 months.

He increased his donations by 23% year on year, even as the pandemic fund was increased to Rs 2125 crore from Rs 1125 crore a year earlier.

Who Are India’s Biggest Philanthropists?

While Azim Premji was able to maintain his position as India’s #1 philanthropist billionaire, HCL founder Shiv Nadar climbed to #2 positions, with total donations of Rs 1263 crore in the last 12 months.

Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest person donated Rs 577 crore in the last one year, thereby he is positioned at #3 in the list.

Infact, Burman Family surprised everyone with a growth of 500% in overall donation.

India’s ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala entered the top ranking with a donation of Rs 50 crore.

Overall, there were 17 additional donations this year, worth Rs 261 crore.
