IRCTC Launches India’s 1st Luxury Cruise From This Date: Route, Fares, USPs & More

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is starting its cruise liner business from Sep 18.

Private Partnership

Set to be India’s first indigenous cruise liner, it has been developed in partnership with a private firm Cordelia Cruises.

Cordelia Cruises will be the promoter and marketer of the luxury cruise liner.

It will travel to destinations such as Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi, and Sri Lanka.

Destination Expansion

In the first phase, Mumbai will serve as its base and will sail through Indian destinations.

From May 2022, the base will shift to Chennai and destinations will expand to Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee and Jaffna in Sri Lanka.

Amenities And Health Safety

Restaurants, swimming pool, bars, open cinemas, theatre, kids area, gymnasium are some of the amenities guests can enjoy.

The entire crew will be fully vaccinated and the number of guests will be limited as per the government’s mandate.

A fully-functional medical centre equipped with medical essentials is present on board.
