TCS Will Hire Employees All Year Round; 11 Lakh Freshers Will Be Hired This Year!

As per some newest reports coming in, Tata Consultancy Services will now be hiring freshers throughout the year.

Apparently, the leading IT services provider will be hiring freshers throughout the year to keep up with the rising rate of attrition.

TCS To Hire 1 Lakh Freshers Throughout the Year To Deal with Attrition

TCS will reportedly be hiring more than 1 lakh freshers throughout the year in order to deal with the rising attrition rate. 

In its results for the first quarter of the financial year, TCS reported an 8.6% attrition in the year gone by. As per the report published by the company the attrition rate rose from 7.2% in the quarter ended in March 2021. Even though the attrition rate has increased from the previous quarter it is being considered as lowest in the county.

While the attrition rate of TCS has decreased year on year, the rest of the industry is seeing a reverse scenario. Another IT giant Accenture announced a rise in attrition rate from a year ago. The company had announced an attrition rate of 11% in the June 2020 quarter. That attrition rate has risen to 17% in this year during the same period. Infosys and Wipro’s attrition rates were reported to be 15.2% and 12.1% in the fourth quarter of the 2020-21 financial year.

Apparently, multiple IT services firms have initiated the hiring process of freshers all around the year. 

TCS Hired 40,000 Freshers From Indian Campuses

In August, we reported to you that TCS will hire over 40,000 freshers from Indian campuses this financial year.

TCS hires trainees through its National Qualifier Test (NQT) for the last few years. The tests are conducted every quarter so as to ensure the continuous availability of certified talent throughout the year.

The target demographic for the test is freshers or those with less than 2 years of work experience.

It should be noted that the NQT (Cognitive Skills) Score is compulsory in order to register for Attitudinal Alignment NQT (Psychometric Test), Industry NQT, and Subject NQT. 

The scores are valid for 2 years and are evaluates a candidate in the following sections:

  • Cognitive ability in the areas of verbal, numerical, and reasoning abilities
  • Psychometric profile to assess personality traits and dispositions in the workplace
  • Industry awareness i.e. understanding of industry-specific dimensions
  • Expertise in subject areas relevant to the industry
  • There will be no negative marking.
