Only These Countries Have Allowed Indians To Travel: Rules, Tests Needed, Vaccination & More

Before planning travel, it is advisable to contact the foreign missions of the destination country along with the airlines.

As the pandemic situation in India is slowly settling (despite the looming threat of a third wave around the corner), more and more countries around the world are now welcoming Indian travelers.

Needless to say, Covid protocols such as mask wearing and social distancing along with local safety norms have to be followed no matter where one goes.

Canada

Canada has extended the ban on direct flights ex-India.

But travelers from India can enter Canada indirectly from a third country.

Germany

Indians can move in and out of the country without having to undergo isolation if they can furnish proof of virus recovery or are fully vaccinated.

Maldives

There is no restriction on travel between the two nations.

Passengers will have to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test report.

Russia

A negative RT-PCR test report taken within 72 hours prior to arrival has to be carried along.

Another stipulation is that the travelers will also have to show proof of invitation from a government-authorised travel agency.

Spot tests will also take place for arriving passengers and those displaying virus symptoms will be sent to a testing facility.

Serbia

A negative COVID-19 report has to be provided which must be taken 48 hours before the time of departure.

Egypt

Apart from India, travelers coming from countries with Delta variant cases will have to undergo a rapid test on arrival.

This is a 15-minute DNA test called ID NOW which will be conducted prior to entering the country.

If one test positive, another RT-PCR test would be conducted by the airport quarantine authorities.

If one tests positive for the 2nd time, they will be subject to further tests at a designated hospital.

Basic documents like several other countries include an RT negative test report or a fully vaccinated certificate.

Qatar

Arrivals from India will have to go through mandatory 10-day hotel quarantine.

This applies to visitors (family, tourist, work) vaccinated outside Qatar with MOPH recognized vaccines.

Those unvaccinated will be refused entry.

Turkey

While direct entry is banned, one can use Turkey (without entering) as a transit to another country.

Countries With Complete Ban On Entry

The following countries are still closed to passengers from India, albeit some with relaxations for students:

  • United Arab Emirates
  • Philippines
  • Australia

  • Indonesia
  • Italy
  • Kuwait
