It is being reported that Suzuki is working on the third-gen S-Cross which will likely debut in 2022, initially in Europe.
It will likely make its way into India sometime in 2023.
The S-Cross is a key model alongside the Vitara for the automaker in Europe.
The Vitara will also likely get a next-gen upgrade.
The new model gets a revamped design along with an electric powertrain to check its carbon footprint.
Powertrain
Reportedly, it comes with the brand’s 1.5L petrol engine benefitted with a 48V light hybrid technology (MHEV) and a 1.4L, 4-cylinder Boosterjet motor.
The MHEV technology will serve to make the new model more efficient and environmentally cleaner.
This is mated to a six-speed manual as standard.
Transmission Upgrades
Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic instead of 4-speed torque converter gearbox.
In Europe, a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission is offered as an option.
The model will also get Suzuki’s 4X4 AllGrip drivetrain system.
Upon arrival in India, it could come with the BS6-compliant 1.5L diesel engine conforming to new laws.
Pricing And New Launch
The entry-level Sigma variant costs Rs. 8.39 lakh.
The range-topping Alpha AT trim is priced at Rs. 12.39 lakh.
This year, the automaker will also launch the second-generation Celerio likely based on the Heartect platform.
