7th Gen Wagon-R Will Have Revolutionary New Design, New Features: Launch Date, USPs, New Design & More
WagonR is one of the most sold cars on Indian roads. In Japan also it has won hearts for years now. In the Japanese market, the car is in its sixth generation. The current Sixth-gen WagonR was launched in Japan in 2017. And it seems like the company has spotted a good time to launch its next generation. By the end of this year i.e. by December 2021, we will be graced with the new generation WagonR.
Key updates about the next generation WagonR.
Exteriors of the updated version of WagonR have undergone major changes. The frontal look now has a more curvy profile. This means more improved aerodynamics for the car. Most components including the bonnet, front grille, headlamps, and air dam have been refreshed.
There is not much of a difference in the Side profile, but it will get new squared grooves over the wheels. Also, the New WagonR gets a new set of alloy wheels.
Currently, in Japan, WagonR is offered in various color options such as Active Yellow, Phoenix Red Pearl, Blisk Blue Metallic, Urban Brown Pearl Metallic, Blueish Black Pearl, and Moonlight Violet Pearl Metallic. These color options are quite different from options available for the India-specific model. It is likely that Suzuki will introduce some new color options for the upcoming WagonR
New-gen WagonR engine and specs
Seventh generation WagonR will come with an R06D in-line 3-cylinder motor. It will also be equipped with the latest set of technologies such as cooled EGR and rapid combustion.
According to sources, the New WagonR will continue using the lightweight HEARTECT platform. However, it will not come without several new improvements and refinements. With updated HEARTECT, we can expect improved driving dynamics and handling.
7th-gen WagonR will also come with improved safety and security features. The current version is equipped with features such as rear false start suppression, brake support when reversing, and a collision avoidance system.
It also laded with other safety features such as lane departure warning system, stagger warning function, high beam assist, 360 camera, head-up display, emergency stop signal, hill hold control, ESP, and SRS airbags.
When exactly this new car will be launched in India, is still a mystery..
