According to Wipro’s 20-F filing, CEO Thierry Delaporte received a pay package of $8.7 million (approximately 64.3 crores) in the fiscal year 2020-21.

“The compensation disclosed for Mr Thierry Delaporte is for the period from July 6, 2020, to March 31, 2021. It includes components such as a one-time cash award, annual stock grant and a one-time grant of RSUs, among other things, as per the terms approved by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders in July 2020,”

Delaporte’s Compensation

The former Capgemini executive was titled CEO and Managing Director of Bengaluru-based Wipro on July 6, succeeding Abidali Neemuchwala.

Delaporte’s compensation is set from July 6, 2020, to March 31, 2021. The compensation has many components such as a one-time cash award, annual stock grant and a one-time grant of RSUs (restricted stock units).

Delaporte received about $1.31 million in salary and allowances (about 9.6 crores), $1.54 million in commission and variable pay, and $5.18 million in other components. He received $758,719 in long-term compensation (deferred benefit) during the period, as per the filing.

According to the document, Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji received a total compensation package of $1.61 million in the fiscal year 2021, while Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal received a package of $1.01 million.

CEO and MD Neemuchwala, on June 1, 2020, received $305,845 in compensation from April 1, 2020, to June 1, 2020.

Wipro’s New Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Wipro announced the appointment of Anup Purohit as Chief Information Officer on Friday (CIO).

 Purohit has almost 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, according to a statement from the Bengaluru-based information technology services major.

He was the CIO of Yes Bank, where he took the charge of spearheading business technology transformation and digital innovation strategy, it said.

 Prior to that, Purohit was associated with financial institutions such as RBL, Barclays and JPMC in leadership roles.
