Top Under-Rs 500 Work From Home Plans From Airtel, Jio, Vi With Free Movies, Data (May, 2021)


In order to cater to this renewed demand for work (or learn or spend time online) from home data packages, BSNL, Jio, Airtel and Vi have started offering appropriate data plans. 

With the second wave of the pandemic ravaging India, employees have once again returned to their homes for work. 

Not only the working class, but also students of schools and colleges alike are having to resort to online classes, which consumes data daily. 

In order to cater to this renewed demand for work (or learn or spend time online) from home data packages, BSNL, Jio, Airtel and Vi have started offering appropriate data plans.

BSNL

It has 2 plans on offer, both with a validity of 28 days. 

One plan is priced at Rs 151 which offers 40 GB data. 

Another plan is priced at Rs 251 which offers 70 GB data. 

It should be noted that these plans do not include calling or SMS benefits, for which users must pay for other plans that provide these services. 

It also has mini data plans amounting to Rs 97 and Rs 98 each. 

The Rs 97 18-day plan provides 2 GB high-speed data daily. After the data is exhausted, the speed reduces to 80 kbps. 

Other inclusions are unlimited calls and 100 SMSes.

The Rs 98 22-day plan includes a daily quota of 2 GB. After the data limit is reached, the speed throttles down to 40 kbps. 

Vi

Vi provides a Rs 251 plan for a duration of 28 days with a data limit of 50 GB. 

There is also a Rs 351 data plan for 56 days and provision of 100 GB of data. 

Both plans are data-specific and prepaid and include free access to Vi Movies and TV.

A 4G data booster pack costs Rs 98 for 12 GB, lasting 28 days.

Jio

The 30-day prepaid plan with a quota of 30 GB costs Rs 151. 

An upgrade of Rs 50, priced at Rs 201, grants the user an additional 10 GB data for 30 days. 

The costliest monthly data-specific plan from Jio is the Rs 251 package with a 50 GB quota. 

Data vouchers are also available for 28 days’ duration costing Rs 101 for 12 GB.

Airtel And Other Telcos’ Free Covid Plans

Airtel, along with Vi and Jio has announced free recharge plans as a one-time initiative for its low income prepaid customers. 

The move is aimed towards helping 55 million of its financially vulnerable customers during the unrelenting pandemic. 

Its smart recharge plans priced at Rs. 45, Rs. 49, and Rs. 79 offer talktime of Rs. 38.52, 100MB data, and 28 days of validity.

After exhaustion of the data limit, users will be charged 50 paise/MB of data.

Vi is also extending free recharge for its poorer customers. The now free Rs 49 plan includes Rs 38 worth of talktime and 100 MB data valid for 28 days.

Jio is also not to be left behind when it comes to sympathetic gestures during the pandemic as it announced that it will offer 300 minutes of outgoing calls per month for free.

This applies to owners of the feature phone JioPhone.
