Maruti Suzuki and Kia India have announced an extension in the free service and warranty deadlines that were expiring in the ongoing lockdown by up to two months.

Extension In The Free Service And Warranty Deadlines

Maruti Suzuki announced on Wednesday that, in response to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions in most states across the world.

The company is also extending free service and warranty periods for and on its vehicles as a special gesture for customers.

The extension of free service, warranty and extended warranty is applicable for all of these that are otherwise scheduled to expire between March 15 and May 31.

These will now be extended till June 30.

Car Companies Make A Special Gesture For The Customers

Customers will face challenges stepping out and bringing their vehicles to workshops due to curfews, lockdowns, and other similar restrictions imposed in many Indian states.

 “Since customers in several States are facing restricted movement, this extension will give them relief. They can avail these services at their convenience, as lockdown eases,” explained Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Director (Service), 

Maruti Suzuki India also said. “With customer convenience at the core of initiatives, we have decided to extend the free services, warranty and extended warranty for our customers till June 30.”

These Companies Will Extend Their Free Service And Warranty Deadlines 

Hyundai also announced a two-month extension of the extended warranty for consumers in cities under lockdown.

Kia India has announced a two-month extension of scheduled services during this period.


A Sigh Of Relief If You Own A Mahindra!

Mahindra whose service and warranty were due to expire between April and May, you can now heave a sigh of relief as the carmaker has extended their deadlines to July 31, 2021.

Tata has extended the deadline to use its warranty and free service until June 30, 2021, for customers whose original warranty and free service duration was set to expire between April and May.

MG Motor is another carmaker that has pushed back the deadline of the warranty and services scheduled between April and May to July 31, 2021.


Toyota Offering A Non-chemical Fumigation Treatment

Toyota has also confirmed that consumers in cities under lockdown will have their warranty, repair facilities, and prepaid service plan extended for up to one month.

The company is also offering Toyota Bactaklenz, a non-chemical fumigation treatment, for both Toyota as well as non-Toyota vehicles at a stipulated price.
