Tata Motors Sales Increase By 422% In Last 12 Month: Here Are Top Selling Tata Cars (Nexon, Tiago & More)
Tata Motors reported its highest monthly sales in nearly nine years. The Country’s third most sold carmaker in February 2021. A healthy YoY sales growth of 119 per cent was reported with 27,224 units sold.
Tata Motors continued its winning streak at the top of the sales charts, selling 29,655 units in comparison to 5,676 units in the same timeframe in 2020, a massive 422 per cent rise in volume year over year. The Month-on-Month sales contrast, on the other hand, represents fact and offers a strong image of the auto industry’s success over the last six months.
Last month, the company retained a market share of 9.3%, compared to just 4% in the same month the previous year.
Top Selling Models Of Tata Motors
The Safari seven-seater, based on the Harrier, was launched earlier this year. The Safari was reintroduced in a new form in our market by the Indian automaker, which also saw its highest sales figures in nearly nine years. This month, the manufacturer is providing some enticing offers and discounts on its vehicles to keep the sales momentum going.
With a healthy volume increase of 73 per cent, the entry-level hatchback sold 6,787 units in February 2021 compared to 3,921 units in February 2020.
Nexon has also been bringing in consistent volume numbers in recent months. Nexon led the way with a total domestic tally of 7,929 units last month, up from 3,894 units in the same timeframe of 2020, a 104 per cent increase on a year-over-year basis.
The Harrier and Tiago are both putting up consistent figures, meaning that the cumulative count continues to set new milestones for the company.
Last month, the Tigor compact sedan sold 1,939 units, up from 782 units in the same timeframe last year, a 148 per cent rise in price. The recently released Tata Safari, which is a seven-seater version of the Harrier, did well in its first month, selling 1,707 units in February 2021.
Last month, the Harrier ended up fourth with 2,030 units sold, compared to 641 units sold in the same timeframe in 2020, a 217 per cent rise in sales.
Next Big Launch
Tata’s next major domestic launch is the Hornbill micro SUV, which is based on the HBX model and is expected to go on sale in the second half of this calendar year. It could be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the Tiago and Altroz, paired to either a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
