All Infosys, Accenture Employees and Families To Get Free Covid-19 Vaccine; How Will It Work?
On March 1, the government initiated the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination process across the country, which covers citizens over the age of 60 years and from 45-59 years with specified co-morbidities.
In the month of January, while the first phase of vaccination was being administered to all healthcare and frontline Covid workers, some Indian companies came forward and checked with vaccine manufacturers, regarding bulk doses of vaccines for their employees, once the government covers priority segments.
As the second phase of vaccination starts, two revered software giants in the country, Infosys and Accenture informed that they would cover the Covid-19 vaccination costs for all of their eligible employees, in extension to their immediate families.
While Accenture confirmed its plans on covering the vaccination costs for its staff and their dependents on Wednesday, Infosys is reported to be currently looking to partner with healthcare providers, in order to vaccinate its eligible workers and their families.
Infosys and Accenture to Vaccinate their Employees
On Wednesday, Accenture India informed via a statement that the company will cover the Covid-19 vaccination costs for its employees and their immediate families, who are part of the company’s medical benefits programme.
“At Accenture in India, we have continued to monitor and consider the guidance of external experts and groups, including international health organisations and local health authorities. Based on this, we strongly support the scientific and public health advice that encourages vaccination,” stated the company.
“For our people who are eligible and choose to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, Accenture will cover the cost for the employee and their dependents who are part of our medical benefits program.”
Infosys, on the other hand, is currently in discussions with healthcare providers to partner with them and conduct the vax drive for the eligible employees and their dependents.
“Infosys is looking at partnering with health care providers to vaccinate employees and their immediate families as eligible under the guidelines given by the government of India and as per approved procedures and timelines. Infosys will cover the vaccination cost for the employee and immediate family as part of our focus on health and wellness”, stated the COO of Infosys, Pravin Rao.
