Woman Pays Rs 1.1 Lakh For iPhone 12 Pro Max On Apple Website; Gets Apple Flavored Yogurt!
Imagine you have paid Rs 1.1 lakh for a smartphone while ordering online and on the day of delivery, you get an apple-flavored yogurt drink instead. Socking much!
The same shocking incident had happened with a Chinese woman.
She has ordered the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max from the official Apple website and was completely shaken and surprised to see an apple-flavored yogurt drink instead of the phone after opening the delivery box.
How Did This Happen?
As per the details provided in a post on Weibo, a woman named Liu paid a hefty $1,500 to buy the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max. On delivery, she received the apple-flavored yogurt drink in her mail instead.
It’s not the first time that such scams are revealed but it is more shocking this time since she had placed the order on Apple’s official website, not from any unknown third-party reseller.
Further, Liu has revealed more details in the post, mentioning that the parcel was not delivered directly to her.
Since she had opted for the delivery to be made to the parcel locker at her residence.
After inquiring about the smartphone, she came to know that both Apple and the Express Mail Service, the official courier partner for the company, have claimed that the iPhone 12 Pro Max was delivered to the location of her request.
Although, Liu has completely denied the delivery of the parcel saying that she had not received the smartphone.
Going ahead, she has posted a photo of the drink on Weibo as well.
Ongoing Case And Investigations
In the same regard, Liu has filed a case with the local police too.
In response to the incident, Express Mail Service has appointed people to especially look into this.
Further, they confirmed that the investigations are going on.
The smartphone company, Apple has also confirmed the same.
In the meantime, on Monday, Apple said that it’s all 270 US stores have been opened, the first time in almost a year as it was forced to shut down several outlets because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, Apple has been cautious in re-opening its retail stores.
So, they have gone ahead and used a team that includes medical experts to make its own calls on a county-by-county basis and sometimes shuttering stores again when local rules would otherwise allow stores to operate.
