Nokia 5.4 All Set To Disrupt Under-Rs 15,000 Market: SD 662, Quad-Camera, 6GM RAM & More!
Nokia loyalists rejoice! The legendary phone-maker and brand is making a comeback with a mid-range model expected to be priced below Rs 20,000. And it isn’t alone, it’s cheaper sister phone — the Nokia 3.4, is said to launch concurrently.
We can confirm certain specifications since the phone is already available in some international markets (back in December in the European market and US launch confirmed recently)..
According to the phone’s own descriptive website, the device boasts of a 4000 mAh battery which has been tested to last 2 days. However, by the makers’ own admission (as stated on the bottom of the official promotional site) the battery capacity has been stated to reduce over time, which might also need to be replaced.
Processor and device shelf life
It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 662 processor which is said to be optimised by AI technology.
Maker HMD Global displays confidence in the longevity of their device by offering a 2-year warranty as standard. This is also backed up by 3 years of monthly security updates along with up to 2 sets of OS software upgrades.
The device is powered by Android 11 “R” (as named by Google) , which is the latest version that was rolled out on Sep 8, 2020. Many outlets are reporting that the phone will come with a near-stock version of the OS, easing up on the bloatware and irrelevant Chinese apps. So a clean, cohesive and smooth running of the device can be expected.
RAM and Internal Storage options
Consumers can choose between 4GB or 6GB RAM variants along with internal storage options of 64 GB or 128 GB. It should be noted that the device comes with pre-installed system software and apps which use a significant part of memory space.
It has a powerful 48MP Quad rear camera with zero shutter lag and a 16 MP front selfie camera. It promises cinematic video recording along with customizable editing tools such as color grading.
The rear camera will be accompanied by 3 sensors- a 5MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The physical fingerprint scanner is also mounted on the back.
5.4 boasts an impressive HD+ punch-hole (it’s a screen feature that houses the front facing camera, as opposed to the conventional water drop notch) display of 6.39 inches. It will have a glossy finish at the back, coming in Polar Night and Dusk colour variants.
Accessories included in package
Nokia 5.4 comes with a guide, charger, type C USB cable, SIM tray tool and a screen protector applied by default. It also has the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and 3.5mm headphone jack. It also comes with OZO Audio Support.
Here’s hoping Nokia can once again break the monopoly enjoyed by Xiaomi and Samsung, among other major players in the budget Android space.
