Clearing all doubts and apprehensions, Govt of India has declared that CBSE Class 10th and 12th examinations have been postponed till March 2021.

Besides, there will be no online examinations for the students.

And there is a solid reason as well.

CBSE Class 10th, 12th Exam Postponed

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has confirmed that due to the prevailing situation of coronavirus pandemic, CBSE Class 10th and 12th examinations cannot be held now.

Atleast till February, 2021.

This means that the examination can be held after March, 2021.

Teachers across the country held a live interaction with the Education Minister using the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive, wherein this information was conveyed.

The main concerns raised were regarding exam patters for CBSE and state board syllabus, and most importantly, the dates.

The Education Minister said, “The Classes 10 and 12 CBSE board exams 2021 will not be held in January and February. The exact exam schedule will be decided after February 2021,”

Will Exams Get Cancelled?

No.

The Education Minister made it clear that the class 10th and 12th examinations won’t be cancelled, and the students won’t be promoted without any exam.

There will be exam, and only the hard-working students will clear the examinations, not everyone.

He said, “Cancelling exams and promoting students without exam will put a stamp on these students. These students might face trouble in getting jobs and admissions at higher education level in future as they would be termed as COVID-era students. We do not want that for our students,”

Why No Online Exam?

When some teachers asked why there is no online examination, since online classes are being conducted without any fail?

Replying to this, the Minister said that not every student has access to high speed internet and the laptops required for conducting online exams.

The Minister said that this online exam won’t be fair.

He said, “A percentage of students do not have equal access to education. While we have used unique methods to teach students but having such methods for exams might not be fair,
