Swiggy’s latest blog is about the statistics that reveal the eating habits and online ordering trends of customers of the online food delivery platform. 

The blog has stated that there has been an increase of as much as 127 per cent in the consumption of supergrains, whereas, ordering for vegan food has come in second

Swiggy’s Analytics: Chicken Biryani Most Favorite Order Of Customers

The fifth edition of Swiggy’s annual StatEATistics analysis has shown that Swiggy delivered five times the orders to home addresses to work addresses between the months of January and March. After this, the number of home orders increased by nine times more in the months of April and May.

The top favorite food item on Swiggy is biryani, vegetarian and non vegetarian equally. Swiggy customers have ordered some form of biryani more than once every second this year. More than 3 lakh new users have made their debut on Swiggy by ordering a Chicken biryani.

As per the latest data from Swiggy, for every veg biryani, there were six orders for chicken biryani on Swiggy.

The blog states, “The mighty chicken biryani reaffirmed its place as India’s favourite dish.”

The top most favorite dishes on Swiggy included Paneer Butter Masala, Masala Dosa, Chicken Fried Rice, and Mutton Biryani.

More Than 200,000 Pani Puri Orders Post Lockdown!

About the priority of beverages ordered on Swiggy, lakhs of users have ordered different varieties of teas and coffees. The blog notes that as work from home increased, people have ordered for such refreshing beverages in order to deal wih their post lunch drowsiness.

Swiggy also noted that more than 200,000 pani puri orders were placed after the lockdown began.

Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi are the top 5 cities when it came to ordering food online. 

The online food ordering app delivered 6,56,174 cakes to customers post lockdown.

The blog also reveals that a customer in Bhopal and another in Bangalore tipped the delivery partners Rs. 5000 each, making it the most generous tip ever received on Swiggy.

Quite recently, Swiggy announced the expansion of its “Street Food Vendors” programme to 125 new cities. This expansion will be conducted under the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atmanibhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme.
