Govt of India: Not Everyone Will Get Free Coronavirus Vaccine

In a recent media interaction, Govt representatives have made it clear that not everyone will get free coronavirus vaccination from the Govt.

Infact, Govt has no plans to vaccinate all Indians.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “I just want to make this clear that the government has never spoken about vaccinating the entire country. It’s important that we discuss such scientific issues, based on factual information only and then analyse it.”

This makes it clear that free Covid-19 vaccine won’t be rolled out for all Indians.

Then Who Will Get Free Coronavirus Vaccine?

As per the Govt., a limited demography will be first provided with the free coronavirus vaccine, and then it will help to break the chain of infection.

Once that happens, it wont be necessary to vaccinate all Indians.

The virus will die by then.

ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said, “Our purpose is to break the chain of virus transmission. If we are able to vaccinate a critical mass of people and break the chain of transmission, then we may not have to vaccinate the entire population,”

Besides, the usage of masks will critical, even after vaccination for the selected demography is done.

As we shared earlier, Govt is determined to vaccinate all healthcare workers, along with senior citizens in the 1st phase of vaccination.

In the month of April, Govt had claimed that all Indians will get vaccination in the next 73 days.

This is a developing story, and we will keep you updated, as more details come in.
