Design, Build
The OnePlus Buds Z comes with a shiny case as the Galaxy Buds. Coming to the buds, they are made out of plastic. does dominate on the OnePlus. They are sturdy enough, and do not feel cheap anyway. The OnePlus logo is at the top of the carry case with an inbuilt LED indicator for battery status.
Now if we talk about the Buds Z, the new shape does offer good comfort. The silicone earbud tucks in well and can securely stay securely in your ear.
Music, Sound Output
This time OnePlus have used 10mm drivers on Buds Z compared to the 13.4mm drivers on the OnePlus Buds. If you are more into music, there isn’t anything to complain about. The sound’s pretty clear, while you could notice some aberration with the lows and mids.
Given the price to performance ratio, the OnePlus Buds Z do offer good sound output. The experience is above average.
Connectivity, Gameplay
Coming to connectivity, you may notice some delay in audio output, both playing games and watching videos. It has lower in-game audio latency and Bluetooth 5.0 ensures steady connections. The audio remains stable while working out or if the device is slightly away without any sort of cutouts.
For the distance, you will start noticing cutouts from 15-16 meters away.
Now talking about calls, the company has added active noise reduction for calls. The buds can obstruct wind and general background noise.
Battery, Standby Time
OnePlus Buds Z scores well with battery. The company claimed 5 hours on a full charge from each bud Z, and it does offer more than 4 hours with continuous playback from each bud. The Buds Z offer extra 20 hours of battery life, so it can offer to charge your buds upto 5 times fully.
OnePlus Buds Z include wired USB-C charging. With 15 mins of charging, the Buds Z carry case and earbuds can be charged upto 5 hours.
