As per confirmed reports coming in, Tamil Nadu can soon become the 1st state in India to ban all forms of online games, which are played with money.

The State Govt is also planning to arrest both the organizers of these games, and the players who have downloaded such games.

Tamil Nadu Will Ban All Online Games Played With Money

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced that their Govt will ban all sorts of online games, which are played with money.

Games such as Rummy, Poker, and others, which are closely associated with betting will be banned.

The CM said, “We have received a lot of complaints against online rummy. In the interest of public, government has decided to ban all online games involving betting,’’

Infact, a petition has already been filed at the Madurai bench of Madras High Court, wherein a total ban on the online games have been requested.

Govt has informed the Bench that they will regulate online games involving money, and strict regulation model will be introduced, which also involved banning these games.

As per the reports, the ban on online games involving money is introduced, both the organizers and players can be arrested.

Why Tamil Nadu Will Ban Online Games?

In the state of Tamil Nadu, there have been several instances of players committing suicide, after getting entrapped in the vicious cycle of betting in the online games.

In Coimbatore, two men committed suicide due to the same reason in the last one week, and overall, more than a dozen such cases have come in, which has alerted the State Govt.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha have already either banned such online games, or imposed rules to regulate them, and stop it’s spread.

Madras High Court has already served notice to Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and other celebrities for promoting such games.
