Reddit has also joined the league of Twitter and Dropbox today since the company announced the working options for its employees

While Reddit is providing more options for its employees, another social media firm is giving an entire week of Thanksgiving off to reward their hard work.

Multiple Options For Employees

Now Reddit employees have an option to switch to a permanent remote working model.

So far, several IT firms have taken this step due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Although, very few have gone ahead and eliminated geographic compensation adjustments.

While talking about the compensation, Reddit noted that they wouldn’t be lowering the pay of employees who choose to work remotely.

Instead of that, they will tie all the U.S. compensation to the pay ranges of high-cost areas such as the Bay Area.

According to the company blog post, “As our teams become more distributed, we will have many learnings about the impact of this model on our performance as a business,”.

More Changes In Horizon

Further, Reddit said, “We will not be afraid to continuously adapt and evolve our workforce philosophies, programs, and processes. 2020 is an unprecedented year, and we strongly believe that for the foreseeable future, providing flexible work arrangements to our current and future Snoos is the right thing to do for Reddit,” referring to Reddit’s mascot, the alien Snoo.

Moving ahead, the company further mentioned the roles which depend on the specific geographic locations for example IT support, will be exempt from remote work.

If some employees want to come into the office just a few days per week then Reddit will also support those employees.

In Reddit, there won’t have any “fixed desks,” instead the office setup will favor “casual and coffee shop-style seating, private space for heads-down focusing, larger bookable resources and collaboration spaces for teams to strategically meet IRL.”

Whole Week Off For Facebook Employees

Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO is giving the entire week of Thanksgiving off to all of the U.S. employees.

according to sources, the move is to reward employees for the work they’ve done during “unprecedented challenges,”.

The company also thinks that this will help in boosting morale after the company’s moderation policies have come under fire from some employees.

According to sources, all employees around the world will get an extra three days off.

Either Monday, Nov. 23 through Wed. Nov 25, or other days for particular teams or geographical regions.
