Indians Can Fly To These 13 Nations; But Who Is Allowed, Who Is Not? (US, UK, Canada & More)

As international flights remain suspended, India has established bilateral air bubbles with countries like the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, UAE, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Japan, Maldives, Nigeria, and Qatar.

Indian citizens with a valid visa having validity of least one month are eligible to travel to these countries. The  Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can also travel to India.

However, the Civil Aviation Ministry has released detailed guidelines on who can travel to and from these mentioned 13 countries.

The United States of America (USA)

From the USA to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding US passports
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to the USA

• US nationals/residents, 
• Foreign nationals holding valid US visas,
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid US visa. (required by the airlines, for issuing the ticket or boarding pass)
• Seamen of foreign nationalities; 
• Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping

Canada

From Canada To India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding Canadian passports
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Canada

• Stranded Canadian nationals/residents 
• Foreigners with a valid Canadian visa 
• Indian nationals with a valid type of Canadian visas (required by the airlines, for issuing the ticket or boarding pass)
• Seamen of foreign nationalities
• Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping

The United Kingdom (UK)

From the UK to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding UK passports
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020  revised from time to time.

From India to the UK

• Stranded UK nationals/residents 
• Foreign nationals and spouses transiting through UK, whether accompanying or otherwise;
• Indian nationals with a valid type of UK visa and destined for UK only. (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass)
• Seamen of foreign nationalities
• Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping

France

From France to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding French passports who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 (subject to change).
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to France

• Stranded EU nationals/residents, 
• Foreign nationals and spouses destined for EU transiting through France, whether accompanying or otherwise;
• Indian nationals permitted to travel abroad as per MHA guidelines of 01.07.2020 and destined for EU
• Seamen of foreign nationalities
• Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping

Germany

From Germany to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding French passports who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 (subject to change).
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020  revised from time to time.

From India to Germany

• Stranded EU nationals/residents, 
• Foreign nationals and spouses destined for EU and transiting through Germany, whether accompanying or otherwise;
• Indian nationals permitted to travel abroad as per MHA guidelines of 01.07.2020 and destined for EU
• Seamen of foreign nationalities
• Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)

From the UAE to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding UAE passports
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to the UAE

• UAE nationals.
• ICA approved UAE residents destined for UAE only.
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid UAE visa and destined for the UAE only (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass)

Afghanistan

From Afghanistan to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding Afghanistan passports
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Afghanistan

• Afghanistan nationals
• Foreigners holding valid Afghanistan visas
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid Afghanistan visa and destined for Afghanistan only (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass)

Bahrain 

From Bahrain to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding passports of Bahrain
• Foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Bahrain

• Bahrain nationals/residents
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid visa from the Kingdom of Bahrain and destined for Bahrain only (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass). 

Iraq

From Iraq to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding passports of Iraq
• Iraq nationals (including diplomats), holding a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Iraq

• Iraq nationals/residents
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid visa from Iraq and destined for Iraq only (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass). 

Japan

From Japan to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding Japanese passports
• Foreign nationals (including diplomats), holding a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Japan

• Japanese nationals/residents
• Foreign nationals holding valid Japanese visas subject to the border measures and travel restrictions imposed by the government of Japan at the time of travel; 
• Any Indian citizens holding any type of valid visa from Japan subject to the border measures and travel restrictions imposed by the government of Japan at the time of travel (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass). 

Maldives

From the Maldives to India

• Stranded Indian citizens;
• All OCI cardholders holding Maldivian passports
• Foreign nationals (including diplomats), holding a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to the Maldives

• Stranded Maldivian nationals/residents
• Foreign nationals holding valid Maldivian visas 
• Any Indian national (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass). 

Nigeria

From Nigeria to India

• Stranded Indian citizens in any country in Africa;
• All OCI cardholders holding Nigerian passports
• All OCI cardholders holding passports issued by any country in Africa who are eligible to enter India as per MHA guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.
• Foreign nationals (including diplomats), holding a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Nigeria

• Stranded Nigerian nationals/residents
• Foreign nationals or spouses of these persons destined for Africa and transiting through Nigeria, whether accompanying or otherwise
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid Nigerian visa and destined for any country in Africa (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass). 

Qatar

From Qatar to India

• Stranded Indian citizens
• All OCI cardholders holding Qatari passports
• Foreign nationals (including diplomats), holding a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines of 30.06.2020 revised from time to time.

From India to Qatar

• Qatari nationals/residents
• Any Indian national holding any type of valid Qatari visa and destined for Qatar only (required by the airlines, for issuing of ticket or boarding pass).
