Startups Pay Visa Employees More Than Older And Bigger Companies

This data has been obtained from the  H-1B Salary Database, where the Labor Condition Application (LCA) disclosure data from the United States Department of Labor (DOL) is registered.

As per the database, Netflix filed for 1173 filings for H1B visa, and is paying as much as $205,532 to these employees. We all know that OTT channels, especially Netflix have observed a huge boost in their business, owing to the lockdown imposed in several countries. But then, the company has always held a reputation for their generous payments to their brilliant employees.

The database also notes that startups such as Airbnb, Lyft, Spotify, Doordash, and GM Cruise pay their employees more than older and larger names, including Google, Apple, and Microsoft.

However, even though these tech companies pay their employees a huge sum, the category of technology is not at the top of the list of absolute highest individual H-1B salaries overall. Healthcare and medical companies also pay their employees the most but they also have a high probability of recruiting a limited number of H-1B visa workers.

However, large tech companies such as Microsoft file for tens of thousands of H-1B applications, which justifies, to a certain extent, their low range of pay.
