No Restrictions On Air Travel To Germany, US, France; Any Visa Works

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has now announced that any citizen of India can travel to the US, Germany, and France on any type of visa. Earlier, only the citizens who had special residency status or had select long-stay visas in the above countries were allowed to enter.

The air travel bubbles are bilateral travel agreements between the US, Germany France and India to reinstate the commercial air travel to and from the countries taking into consideration the critical situation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

In a tweet, the MoCA GoI says, “Important travel updates! Restrictions on the entry into India of OCI cardholders from countries with which MoCA has ‘air bubble’ arrangements have been removed. They are welcome to enter India.”

However, there will be some local rules applicable too. The number of flights will be limited and the rules of quarantine that are being followed locally will be applicable to the passengers. They might also have to undergo testing. In France, travelers from a specific group of countries which include India are subjected to a PCR test upon arrival.

As per reports, discussions about including the UK and the UAE in the list of countries for outbound flights for Indian passengers are in progress.

Arrival To India Eased Up Too: Foreigners Can Enter For Business, Medical, Work

The arrival to India has also been simplified as the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed OCI card holders who are from the countries with which the air bubble arrangements have been finalized by the MoCA to land in India.

The Spokesperson, Ministry of Home Affairs tweeted, “Ministry of Home Affairs has permitted OCI cardholders to enter India who belong to countries with which “air bubble” arrangements have been finalised by Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The UK is also included in the OCI rule. Also, other foreigners from these countries will be able to come to India for business, medical, or work purposes.
