Design, Display: Poco M2 Pro vs Poco X2

With an all new design on the out, the Poco X2 features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display offering 120Hz refresh rate in an 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with dual hole-punch cameras upfront with curved edges on the sides.

It’s not an AMOLED panel, and operates at 1080 × 2400 pixels.

In comparison, Poco M2 Pro has a similar design as the already available Redmi Note 9 Pro series in India. The device dons a glass back with dualtone finish of either black, green or grey. The device has a textured finish on the lower side.

As the Redmi Note 9 Pro series, Poco M2 Pro comes with a similar 6.67-inch LCD display with 60Hz refresh rate. 

There’s a Poco branding down with “48MP Quad camera” written above the camera module. It features P2i coating which makes it splash proof.

While Poco X2 has a 120Hz dual punch-hole display, the Poco M2 Pro has a 60Hz display with a single punch-hole.. The Full HD+ display on both Poco X2 and Poco M2 Pro are extra smooth and well enough to play games and watch movies.

Hardware, Storage: Poco M2 Pro vs Poco X2

Poco X2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G. Poco X2 is available in three different storage models: the base model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, a mid-end model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and finally the top model will come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Poco M2 Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. The new Poco smartphone will have 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage with support for expandable storage.

Snapdragon 730G and Snapdragon 720G share almost similar features and specs as its original SD 730 with segmented CPU configuration, GPU and connectivity options. In terms of daily use you won’t find any noticeable difference.

Software, UI: Poco M2 Pro vs Poco X2

Poco X2 runs on the latest Android 10 with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box with a special Poco launcher on top. Poco M2 Pro runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 with the launcher. The UI comes loaded with features and bloatware, and delivers a clean performance as any other non-stock device.

It has customisations and tweaks and MIUI come with ads. MIUI 12 update on both the devices are expected to be rolled out soon.

Cameras: Poco X2 vs Poco M2 Pro

Coming to optics, Poco X2 features a rear quad camera setup as the already available Realme X2. The four cameras at the back include the brand new 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, the successor to the popular 48MP Sony IMX586.

The primary Sony 64MP IMX686 sensor is further supported by a 2-megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel wide angle camera.

At the back, Poco M2 Pro with the quad rear camera setup has the 48-megapixel as main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle, 5-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Both the smartphones can capture some great shots in spite of difficult lighting conditions. The colours are quite accurate with proper white balance playing the role. Poco X2 Pro has a better camera.

Upfront, Poco X2 flaunts a dual selfie camera setup inside the capsule shaped punch-hole sporting a 20-megapixel front-facing primary sensor coupled with a 2-megapixel depth sensor while Poco M2 Pro features a 16-megapixel selfie camera inside the single punch-hole.

Battery, Fast Charging: Poco X2 vs Poco M2 Pro

Finally, coming to the battery, the all new Poco X2 houses a sizable 4,500mAh battery. It’s good enough to run for more than a day. Poco X2 also supports 27W fast charging tech, and will ship with the 27W fast charger with the box.

In comparison, Poco M2 Pro houses a larger 5,000mAh battery supporting 33W faster fast charging technology.

Pricing, Availability: Poco X2 vs Poco M2 Pro

Poco M2 price in India starts at Rs 13,999. Poco M2 Pro will be available in two storage options in India: the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 13,999. The mid-end Poco M2 Pro variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 14,999. 

Finally, the top-end Poco M2 Pro variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 16,999.

Poco M2 Pro will come in three different color options: Out of the blue, Green and greener and Two shades of black.

Poco X2 price in India starts at Rs 17,499 now after GST hike for the base model comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The mid-end 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 18,499.

The top model of the three, Poco X2 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage sells at Rs 21,499. Poco X2 and Poco M2 Pro, both will be available exclusively in India on Flipkart and Mi online store.
