This State Govt Has Launched A Job Portal For IT Employees To Find New Jobs!

In a first of its instance, a state Govt has launched a job portal for all IT employees find new jobs, amidst the chaos and recession caused by the coronavirus.

Will other states too launch their own job portals?

West Bengal Launches Job Portal For IT Employees

West Bengal has become the 1st state in India to launch their own job portal, for helping IT employees find and discover new jobs in their skills domain.

Called as Karmo Bhumi, this website has already listed hundreds of new job openings, and more than 1000 IT employees have already registered there.

The announcement of this new job portal for IT employees in West Bengal was made by CM Mamta Bannerjee.

She tweeted: “On behalf of GoWB, we launched Karmo Bhumi, web portal for IT professionals, returned & looking for job change due to COVID 19. Connect now to IT companies of Bengal through http://karmabhumi.nltr.org My best wishes to everyone,”

How Will Karmo Bhumi Help IT Employees

Since the lockdown started, several hundreds of IT employees were fired, and laid-off, asked to resign. As we reported earlier, several of these IT firms are also deducting salaries, and cancelling their leaves.

Due to these reasons, thousands of IT employees are returning back to their states, and waiting for things to settle down. Most of the IT firms are still under Work From Home mode anyways.

It seems that West Bengal is attempting to tap this local talent, atleast in the IT sector, and help these IT employees find a job in their own state.

This way, the IT employees can stay close to their homes, and also help West Bengal attract more IT companies, open new campuses, and help them in generating tax revenues for the state.

It’s a win-in situation here.

Recently, Centre too launched a unique job portal to help find more than 200,000 internships, across the nation.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
