Mi Band 5 With Full Screen Punch Hole Display: New Leak
The leaked Mi Band 5 images reveal Mi Band 5 with a punch hole display offering a bezel-less edge to edge display. The punch hole is at the lower side of the display. The leaked display has information on the screen as date, time, battery and other details.
Leaked via a Weibo post, the leaked Mi Band 5 image has a full colour display with the punch-hole being expected as a capacitive navigation button.
While the information is yet to be verified, take the leak with a pinch of salt, so these could end as fake images. Some sources hint at the punch-hole either being a camera or some additional sensor.

While the whole Mi Band series has been about affordable fitness bands, the company has tried to innovate with every generation of bands with upgraded features and added functionalities. Xiaomi is now the number one wearables brand in India.
The previous Mi Band 5 leak said that the upcoming Mi Band will feature a 1.2 inch OLED display. The bigger display hints at a change in the design, with the same features as heart rate sensor and other specs.
Xiaomi this time has decided to go with NFC for the global variant, which means you can pay with your Mi Band 5 at POS spots without taking out your smartphone or card.
There are multiple payment options now who offer NFC based payments including popular platforms as Google Pay.
Even Xiaomi has its own Mi Pay. The service is available in India currently, and it can be a great way to integrate the Mi Band 5 and payment services. Currently, Mi Band 4 only supports Mi Pay, but a wider adoption of other services is expected with Mi Band 5.
Till now, NFC was only offered with Mi Bands available in China, as Mi Band 3 or Mi Band 4. But Mi Band 5 will be bringing in this new technology to support NFC globally.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 was launched in India back in September at Rs 2,299.
Xiaomi Mi Band 4 comes with a 0.95-inch AMOLED touchscreen colour display offering a resolution of 240 x 120 pixels.
Mi Band 4 comes with additional features and the same design as Mi Band 3. The upcoming Mi Band 5 will have a better and bigger display, bigger width and design. It will have the heart-rate sensor, step counter, touch display and supports voice commands.
Mi Band Launch: Mi Band 5 Price, Mi Band 5 India Launch
In China, the Mi Band 5 will cost 179 yuan (around Rs 1,830), and will launch in the second half of 2020. Mi Band 5 India launch will happen later. Mi Band 5 India price is expected to be in the same bracket as Mi Band 4, under Rs 2,500.
Mi Band 5 India launch is expected in late 2020, probably during September or October.
